Shockingly, I came to know...that None of the 3 Chiefs attended the funeral of SAM ..... So shameful for Indians & specially Indian Army Chiefs. and surprisingly GOVT. has taken no heed to it..
He should have been one of the Bharat Ratna Awardees but Sachin Tendulkar was the priority of the BJP ???? illogical though !!! I do hope soon the Famous Sam shall be awarded this honour posthoumously .

Sachin Tendulkar was the priority of Congress and not BJP.He received the honor when Congress was in Power.

Not many people know enough about Sam Manekshaw. The way he led and especially thee way he humiliated Pakistanis in front of the whole world is something every Indian should know. He was on his own instrumental in turning what was planned to be a cease-file agreement, into an unconditional and public surrender by Pakistan in erstwhile East Pakistan. True champion!
It was just as well that the disgusting Congress party did not confer any award on the greatest son of India of our time. It was natural for it to insult him being an antinational party that cares little for anything Indian; and Sam was the very antithesis of all that this stinking Organisation stood for. Patriotism, Respect for constitutional requirements, genuine concern for the people,a fabulous leader of all time, and a willingness to make sacrifices for the sake of the country were qualities he never lacked, but which the Congress party never ever had, right from the days of their patriarch, Jawaharlal. If indeed the congress bestowed any honour on him, he would have felt insulted coming from the Party that also celebrated Ishrat Jahan and Sohrabuddin, and was complicit in aiding terror in India by promoting the nefarious Hindu terror scare.
But it is time for the NDA without further delay, to give him what was his due, albeit belatedly and make him a Bharat Ratna to be celebrated for life by us true Indians. Like Sardar Patel, Sam was ignored and insulted by an undeservedly occupied force notoriously called the Congress.

It was shameful for the then govt. that they did not have time to respect the departed soul, who was not only courageous but also a main stream to defeat Pakistan in 1971 war, which was rather which is the biggest victory of the time. Since, around 1 lac army men were bowed down on knees.
