Biased article

This totally biased interview. Agreement made between Madras Govt. & Mysore state before independence , why it is still carried. Mysore Govt. was in need of loan at that time and British govt. forced them to agree their rules & signed the agreement. Why it has to be accepted now? The agreement itself has to be cancelled .

You are entirely wrong my friend
It is high time pre independence mistakes are corrected. TN people think they have all the rights in the world over cauvery waters, they are wrong. The 1924 agreement was a grave mistake and this is the only instance in the world where an upper riparian is at mercy of a lower riparian state. Karnataka is always on receiving end due to bad politics and power equations. Go to international court of justice and Karnataka will win, this is a no brainer. If you looks at the tribunal award one can see the heavy bias, we should have state neutral people on the body else karnataka will never get justice. Can u imagine 25 lakh acres of TN vs 6.5 lakh acres of Karnataka irrigated, it shows the lopsided ruling of the CWDT. We are not asking for lions share, we are only asking equitable distribution which TN opposes. People commenting on this forum should have their basics maths right before supoorting TN claims. We have to look at a national farming policy where water intensive crops are not allowed in low rain years, but TN still wants to grow rice that sucks lot of water. The cropping pattern has to change based on water availability, Bring national water policy and problem will be solved but TN will oppose it as they will lose the undue advantage they have
The Authors statistics are wrong, Karnataka just under 10 lakh acres of irrigated land but TN has surpassed 30 lakh acres and you call this justice?

In 1924 it was British ruling from Madras & hence they implemented what was favorable to them. Same thing happened in Hyderabad State & their projects were objected by Madras before Independence. Later in United AP, with their majority, Andhras have planned systematically to ruin Telangana & did every thing possible in h Book, to loot Waters & other wealth of Telangana. Now after division Andhra is at the receiving end, after 60 yrs of loot. Whatever Jimmy said is absolutely correct. If there was some mistake, it has to be corrected when found. OR we can never progress. When the Water sharing issue came up before Brijesh Kumar Commission in 2016 and figures were shown to him by Telangana, irrigation Engineers, he asked "how did you tolerate this loot for 60 years"? Nehru ruined even the River linking Project, like the Kashmir issue, which has become 10000 times more severe problem.

With due respect to your cauvery family initiative, your article seems biased towards TN rather than balanced.

Water sharing agreement based on 1854 acreage cannot be basis for dividing now, if one state has developed its agriculture better than other.

When you say that TN does not even bother about polluting all tributaries of cauvery, how can you expect karnataka to solve it for them.

you are supposed to develop agriculture based on water potential and usage of 1000s of years..becasue you have now capabilty to irrigate does not mean you will use all the water urself...tribunal has studied points and awarded the new sharing formula..u are supposed to obey law and appeal if u have dispaute...rowdism and goondaism will not help...

This is like saying we have enjoyed waters for 1000 years and u dare touch the waters. This is rainfall that falls in Karnataka and if we are not allowed to use even 50% of it what justice is this? This is like arguing we already have 4 metros don't develop another one, this is a laughable comment
