Children Malnutrition
by sawan on Oct 05, 2016 01:22 PM  | Hide replies

It is really unfortunate to read views of so called literate guys here, telling importance of money and suggesting to be single, but these people should know that money is coming from various resources (raw materials) from rural belts only, not from IT, Bollywood, entertainment industries, import export business. These businesses are superficial and have no ground realities, If farmers increases the price of grains, your priority will be of purchasing grains first not the smart phone for you and your kids at any cost. These are the miss management of govt administration what they did in past several year. They failed to distribute the things uniformly among the society. So rather blaming these guys just cut some part from you weekend entertainment expenses and do something for your society.

These are all Hindu houses, not Muslims who are blamed to increase our population. Popu-Control should be applied on all.

Children Malnutrition
by prakash panjabi on Oct 05, 2016 12:55 PM

It is really unfortunate that in a place just at a distance of 150 km from State capital (which is also a financial capital of country), tribals are so helpless due to utter failure of government machinery. While the government seems to be finally waking up, there is no certainty of action or its continuity. Can you explore the option of taking this up with NGOs and HNIs if they want to pitch in. Also please consider the possibility of direct help thru genuine social workers and people wishing to contribute.

It is unfortunate that malnutrition among the tribal people is discussed when ever there is a general election in the country and the political parties use it to score points against each other. The glaring example that it had happened during Kerala assembly election recently.I am of opinion that we are not qualified to call ourselves as a progressive nation till we wipe out the tears of down trodden who search every avenue to quench their thirst and hunger. It is paining to see that the promoters of hate and communal politics are going scot-free and what to eat and what not to learn and wear is the programme of the government. Some one has remarked that govt is not an "anathashram" to throw gratis at this unfortunate lot of our society. In fact they are the original people of this land but sadly preserved to showcase in Republic Day parades only.

My father earns Rs32.50 on daily basis but he is able to survive with this. Not because he gets some help from govt or so because he has cut his coat according to his cloth. When u cant feed, why do u give birth to babies??

RIGHT - why indians produce so many children when they cannot earn - and expect the govt to feed their children
as well as generate employment for them .NO BODY THINKS OF HOW MUCH BURDEN IS PUT ON THE RESOURCES WHICH ARE LIMITED IN INDIA . added to it there is corruption which can never be wiped out , ALSO HOW DO GOVT OFFICIALS dont pay manarega money when people are starving -- on one side while demand pay hikes on other side .

The escape route !!!
by subir gupta on Oct 04, 2016 02:46 PM

If one does not have money to provide ones own family 1. Food 2. Clothe 3. Shelter 4. Education 5. Medicine 6. Internet etc, one should prefer to remain single and accept the fate of consequences alone and not to one family. This world is tough, this world is weird. Life on earth is just by chance. Hold it there at that point of chance, by beloved brother.

Poverty.

While we feel sorry for malnutrition deaths, everyone must realize that Govt is to rule the country. Govt is not 'Anath ashram". It is wrong to produce children & expect Govt to take care of yr babies. Will you like to be born to such parents? So don't pity them. Everyone must rise on their own. Govt has far more to handle than bring up yr abies.

Malnutrition in Wada, Jawhar and Mokhada
by ashok krishnan iyengar on Oct 04, 2016 02:34 PM

A possible way to combat the problem of malnutrition in the three blocks of Wada, Jawhar and Mokhada, is to provide the children with extruded fortified therapeutic food. The food is very versatile; has better acceptability; less costly; easily digested and assimilated and with no anti-nutritional factors. Acceptability is very good and is not monotonous as the roasted food which is being supplied currently under their nutrition programs. A survey was conducted by an international NGO a few years back to solve the problem but has since not been implemented. For the purpose, an extruded food production unit which is not very capital intensive, could be set up at Jawhar and the food distributed in all the blocks using the existing infrastructure.
A classic example of extruded food being produced for the welfare of children and mothers is at Gaya and Khagaria in Bihar, which are running successfully.

by Lalukumar Choubey on Oct 04, 2016 02:23 PM

It is extremely unfortunate. We must address this problem. Govt should immediately send the relief. Corporate houses must come forward to eradicate poverty, malnutrition and hunger. We as common men are ready to give more tax on this account. the But we do not need advice from Pakistani people. Pakistani people must stay away from us.

Politicians please Jump in Vaitarna
by Thing on Oct 04, 2016 02:20 PM

All politicians should jump in Vaitarna and drown themselves. It is shameful beyond words that children die of malnutrition in this age and times.
