Narayanan Palghat
Professor Khilnani
by Narayanan Palghat on Mar 29, 2016 05:52 PM  | Hide replies

Seems so biased from his interview it seems that he wants to be authority to judge the society. The invaders of India (Mughals/ British / others) changed the history to their convenience by writing history to their convenience. People like Khilnani have gone by doctored records and drawn their conclusions. How does it help. Was there no civilisation in Delhi before the Mughals. The Mughals destroyed all the history that existed using their brutal force. British did their bit by interpreting our ancient scriptures to their convenience and made gullible people believe it.

The best way is to ignor such people..He wrote a book before 20 years(Does anyone remember it?) So let some jobless media and people discuss and forget..If he is very democratic as some one to paint his female family members like Hussein who painted Sarswati/Lakshmiji..Show some real courage..

Movement
by arungopal agarwal on Mar 29, 2016 05:20 PM

Do not find any movement, even if so due to JNU or somewhere strayingly - do not agree it to be a movement, it does not represent masses, it is biased and end of democratic norms, due to media and all opposition together against Modi-local issues are made hyper and national, if we look Dadri issue, or Rohit issue or JNU issue-all local-to be tackled not even by State rather local administration.
India is a country of diversity either laws should be different to some extent in certain States as per the local needs or if to be continued-needs reforms to suit today requirement.

The butterfly revolution is a novel written by william butler in 1960 - worth reading by all youth

this professor should understand that during chandragupt or vikramaditya our country was great in all aspects its only after the advent of mughals all perils started and british enhanced that so it is not a crime to declare india or bharat a hindu state then it will flourish ancient text books of india and ancient rishis and gurus were all great scholars except for the dalit backwardness or oppression everything was marvelous

Dear sleeper or dreamer, come out of your dream. If our own Indian kings and rulers were not fighting with each other among themselves, no external power like mughals or british could attack us. So stop dreaming that all was ok and flourishing under those times of Vikramaditya

Mr Modi's Vikas agenda is the best suited for India now.Indian Engineers and Doctors, Teachers & Businessmen are all busy to match or perform better than the world. Our students have to think & learn for a better productive life, No CPM,Congress so called ideology will work. We have to have best infra, river linking and water solutions, best hospitals, agri work etc. Think and act accordingly. No more wasting of time as done till 1990. What is the suppression ? Do People want anarchy?

Wake up. All very qualified engineers, doctors, etc are leaving India and immigrating to countries like USA, UK, New Zealand. So stop dreaming that the present govt can do many things. The govt must think of poor and middle class by not increasing so many taxes. Every now and then we hear about increase in taxes and prices of commodities.

Ramesh Koushik
on the verge of a student movement
by Ramesh Koushik on Mar 29, 2016 04:23 PM

Some of the things said in this interview are not acceptable. I will comment on one of them:
In pre-independence era, many youngsters from rich and powerful families defied their parents and joined the freedom movements. In the last 30 years I am yet to know of any youth who rebelled against his corrupt politician /bureaucrat parent and leave home in disgust.
Only those youth who have nothing to lose, start movements now a days. Further, the state is too powerful now a days(this is true of any country).
Further, the interviewee says, no one can be suppressed for too long. It may be true for India under BJP(in any case the Cong I rule is no less a dictatorship compared with BJP or RJD or CPIM), but there is absolutely no evidence that people in Saudi Arabia or China will ever get freedom of speech in future.

Headline is misleading
by Urvashi Seth on Mar 29, 2016 04:13 PM

Headline is misleading. The writer wants to give a communal colour to the interview.Actually Professor Khilnani's book is innocuous and non controversial. It is just about 50 Indians who have been chosen on no specific criteria.Attributing motives to the selection or giving a communal slant to the writing would be highly misleading. The interviewer instead of asking about the Indians who comprise the selection, she is asking irrelevant questions. Mediocrity thy name is Archana Masih.

What is this irresponsible article
by KARAN on Mar 29, 2016 04:11 PM

You to a college to educate not to air your political thought and agitate. This is a very elementary understanding which the authors seems to have failed to learn. If a student agitates, listen to him and ifvhis demands are purely academic, warn him and on further agitation throw him out.Nothing more to articulate
And glorifying rogue students like Kanhaia who are on file money should not be supported .
