The Maharajah or the Maharani did not construct it. The British gave the concept, design and technical assistance. The money came from the usurious taxes imposed by the Rajah and Rani on the toiling commoners. Those commoners also toiled for the construction of the airport. Some materials, such as asphalt, came from England. The planes came from England, purchased with the revenue squeezed out of the impoverished masses.
The Maharaja just sat in his palace, eating, drinking, faxrting, copulating.......an intellectual pauper little better than a pig !
