Even the island nations of Britain and Japan, that boast of having the longest traditions of independent entities, have had numerous changes to their territorial extent over the centuries.
Britain has only recently held a referendum to decide whether Scotland must remain with it or not (Scotland decided by a thin margin to remain with the UK). And Scotland is free to hold the referendum again whenever it wants and to secede from the UK should a majority of its people express that wish in a referendum !
In the build up to the second world war, Adolf Hitler used to repeatedly refer to the launch of his Third Reich that will rule the world for a 1000 years !
The Roman Empire, the Ottoman empire, the numerous empires in the Indian sub-continent (some of which were much larger in geographical extent than todays Indian republic) and those in China all lasted less than or much less than 500 years each.
Perhaps Colonel Anil Athale thinks that the future will be different and that he is living in a very unique point in history from where the saying history will repeat itself will not apply any longer !

history also said , people always fight kill each other , rape women , do lot of violence also ..All the years of peace were temporary if you really see the history ..
So do u want be in that or have a hope that we will have peace ..
India will never give up kashmir and so does pakistan .. So this war will continue for 1000 years , until a third world war comes and destroys everything .

Are you sure that there are no other obstacles in the way of India and Pakistan continuing to exist (in their present geographical extents) for a thousand years ?
A thousand years is such a short period of time for anyone to try and attempt a prediction ??

The congress has given article 370 in influence of Naheru who was having soft corner being the Kashmiri and still talks regarding the secularism and not supporting to solve the issue. Gov. should take firm action and remove 370
Solution lies either to finish article 370 under constitution or permit lakhs and lakhs people from main land to force all separatists to flee. Democratically one of the best way to resolve the issue within a weeks time.
Pakistan spends great amount if not all of the aid money it gets from sources like the USA,CHINA on various pretexts.We can't stop it. so we have to meet this pakistan thrust Challenge to conquer India, to have thousand year wars the thousand cuts etc.There are no short-cuts for india,It can be a long haul. Pakistan knows it cannot conquer India. Their policy (as stated by Benazir Bhutto) is to inflict a thousand cuts in Kashmir and grab the state.

ALL AID PACKAGES, GRANTS AND FREE RATION MUST BE DONE AWAY WITH . UNIFORM CIBIL CODE MUST BE MADE SO ALL CAN LIVE PEACEFULLY UNDER SWACH BHARATH ABHIYAN. AKHAND SWACH BHARATH PROGRAM SHOULD GIVE CLEAN CHIT TO ALL UNDER GHAR WAPSI YOJNA AND PRAKALP THAT SHOULD BE THE SANKALP.

Free and subsidised rations were stopped at Sheikh Abdulah's request who felt the concessions were demeaning.
