British rule was the golden era in Indian History 1. British unified over 550 princely states into a single entity. 2. They ended Moslem domination in India and liberated Hinddus from 1000-year long subjugation that eventually led to the rise of Hinddu intellectual class who could eventually fight for the freedom of India. 3. Britishers built excellent dams, bridges, railways, raods, etc which unheard in the rest of Asia (during 19th century). 4. British opened many universities and colleges in India, which helped Hinddus to rise as an intellectual class. 5. British introduced English helped India to become a software superpower in the world today. 6. British rule considerably weakened the barbaric caste-system, even though remnants of the system remain. Even superstitions decreased to a great extent. 7. Due to better medical services, death rate dropped and birth rate increased. 8. British rule altogether gave a new direction to Indians who were mired in ignorance, superstitions, caste-barbarity and opened an era of modern civilization in India.

Your points and my answers: 1. true 2. Wrong, have you ever heard of Aryavata, Ramanujam, Chanakya etc. and do you know the importance of numeric used in algebra & zero? India was superior before British rule. 3. To help them retain power in India through ages & help themselves to loot. 4. True, it helped all including those serving british officers & their children. 5. It is just a coincidence about English, British empire ruled every inch of world, so English became common. No greatness about it, computer understand only sequence of 0 & 1. Research about it. Let UK became the super power in SW who is stopping! 6. Everywhere there is cast system, there are hundreds of different churches(Catholic,protestant etc.) all over the world, why is that!? 7.What is the population of UK? Why it has not increased as they have started everything like medical inventions? 8. British India,Pakistan,Bangladesh as 3 countries and all tax payers money are going to defend our borders. They created such a situation that every Indian has to suffer & where is the border line between India & China. British rulers created all the conflict jones where they ruled & now they are very good at selling WMD & precission bombs to kill each other.

if political parties are funded by outside agencies.unrest will always be there.first thing in Kashmir there is unemployment.Article 370 and azadi slogans keep business community not to put industrial base in kashmir.when kashmiri pandits are ousted, then why majority hindu businessmen will invest in Kashmir.Kashmir has nor produced a single leader who attracts business community to invest in their state.Every business man wants its money to be protected.Kashmiri people and leaders themselves responsibility for their economic fate.india is a big market.Pakistan is a failed state.kashmiri shall learn from bangladesh.How they were tortured and women raped.few separatist leaders who never contest election are paid stooges.generate employment for youth.religion never produce food.men grow food.if kashmiri stop pelting stones then security forces never use pellet guns.every action has a reaction.CM of state is playing politics by blaming forces.rather it should curb youth to throw stones.
The writer should be jailed for trying to insinuate & perpetuate a potentially vicious & deleterious caste system. He is making tall claims of the majority community being the glue but demeans all minorities & dalits as being appendages or worse a burden to the nation. And then he brings in GST as a caricature to the unity of India. Shenoy is nothing but a misogynistis polluting windbag who should be denounced & taught a lesson with a jail sentence.

If you have any objection against his article who stop you from filing complaint against him ?
No other Country with a Majority Following (Be it I51am, Chri_stian or Hindu) would have accepted to give Democracy or Equal Rights to other Religions living as Min0rities (Especially in the backdrop of a B100dy Partition of India just due to I51amic Invaders & their descendants - Whose sole aim is to still Finish off the Idol worshippers at any cost).
The problem we had was Politics & Rulers got Hijacked with the Invaders and they were more Loyal to Foreigners than the Local Rulers !!
As far as Caste is concerned, Brahmins never got to Rule - And they are also unfit to rule.
I guess it is High time India Replaces Foolish Democracy with Indian Army Rule taking over with its Nationalistic & Iron Fisted High Handedness - Instead of Vote Banks, Pseudo Seculars, Pseudo Patriots & separatists.

True assessment. But Army too has been well sold out to the politicians now.
Does it really take castes and "common cultures" to make lasting political entities ? Then Switzerland would not exist; Pakistan would have been justified in its atrocities in former East Pakistan (all that violence was only to make common cultural values for that country's survival, some apologist could argue)
This country was not one political union in spite of having an unrestrained caste system in 1650, or even in 650, or even in 650 BC.
There is a promise that this countrymen can see each other as equals, without venerating caste hierarchies. Democracies in the world have come up, iin a connected world and we have experiences to share and mistakes to avoid.
And it has been learnt thoroughly - "One (CurturallyUnited)People, One (OverCentralizedFascist)State, One (Hitler)Dictator" was a bad idea.
