Arnab Goswami MAY BE DOMINANT,LOUD AND RESTRICTS FULL PARTICIPATION OF PANEL MEMBERS. BUT MORE DANGEROUS ARE THE NDTV ANCHORS AND DISCUSSIONS WHICH PROMOTE DIVISIVE POLITICS TO THE EXTENT OF ANTI INDIA VERSIONS.
Arnab has both positives and negatives. On the plus side he does extensive research and homework and seldom deals superficially to wind up debates w/o touching all aspects in details as many other channels do. On the negative side like most he too is TRP driven and selects topics accordingly. He seems to have struck a chord with PM Modi and present BJP govt. as he timely avoids choosing topics when the heat is on the govt. or deputes his assistants to anchor. In fact most of his Indo-pak debates visuals, feeds, contents he seems to be getting from the establishment directly. Further he will not allow those panelists differing with him to speak especially the Pakistani or Kashmiri panelists. Also, he seems to deliberately allow 2-3 people cross talk to generate heat making it difficult for the viewers to make head or tale of who is saying what! The biggest negative is Arnab hogs most of the speaking time leaving panelists fuming who get far less time to speak.Perhaps all these characteristics sum up what the author says 'powerful'. But question is how many people in the country view English channels --000001%? Not sure how many zeros frankly! I have found a miniscule minority viewing English channels especially in North India. Mostly in big cities in south perhaps they watch E-channels that too by only the elite. During tour to Mumbai, and other B-class towns in north India I have found only 5-star hotels telecast the E-channels. Hardly any 4/3-star hotels telecast E-ch

(contd.)Hardly any 4/3-star hotels telecast E-channels. So from that point of viewership is limited to only a handful of people for the Arnab or any E- channels shows for that matter and his power is limited to that sample.

What is remarkable in all this is not that Arnab is such and such and such, but that those middle class commoners (the great majority of whom are North Indians) who avidly watch his shows are all stupxid beyond redemption to invest all their thoughts and passions in one topic (and a relatively irrelevant one at that), viz, the hyndu muxlim question !

The debate show conducted by Arnab Goswamy on Time Now is very popular debate show and many people watch this show regularly. Piri, are you coming from a Super class and thinking you are the most intelligent person on this earth ? How can you say the middleclass people and specially North Indians has no brain ? The way you have got a habit of writing long comments all the time clearly show your are a jobless person without any activities except writing comments free of cost at Rediff.

When one flips across TV channels, there is only 1 channel that can be easily distinguished just from the nature of the topic being discussed in it, and that is the Arnab channel.
While other news channels such as NDTV, India today, CNN, etc. feature a wide range of topics and debates in them are relatively less marked by interruptions by those who debate, all one can hear in the Arnab channel (even when one hurriedly jams the remote to cross his channel fast on the way elsewhere) are shrieks of hyndu......muxlim......hyndu......terrorixt......hyndu......Pakistan......muxlim......terror......hyndu......anti-national... ..muxlim.......!
Pray, wont that man ever get tired with his monotone (even if he derives such good TRPs by having the stupxidest segment among Indians - the North Indian middle class - eating out of his hands) ?
And oh, wont that stupxidest segment among all Indians - the North Indian middle class - ever come by at least a wee bit of common sense ??

Arnab has mastered his active profession in one direction as Aakar Patel has described in his article and no doubt Arnab has earned his name as supreme among the English medium elites of upper class. It is for others in the same profession to concentrate on prime time debates on malnutrition and the government's inability to run primary schools competently and so on. You cannot expect everything from one man. Prime Minister can only talk and suggest. Others have to do the job in the areas suggested and campaigned.

Well said ! I totally agree, we tend to try and pull down someone who does something, not care about someone who does nothing !
The real rub is why Mr Modi gave interviews only to Arnab Goswami and no one else..like at least Rahul Kanwal if not Barkha Dutt or Rajdeep Sardesai who are now branded anti-national
n the era of paid news/biased news, an Anchor should exercise control over his panelist. Should give equal hearing to all participants. Respect ethics of journalism which includes crores of viewers criticism
Arnab is good, but need not be a SHOUTING BRIGADE. most of the debate, tries to put word on others mouth. Overbearing and do not do justice to hear from all panelists. He lacks tolerance to hear others point of view. No comparison with other reputed anchors like Sardesai or Kanwal of other channels. With his much hyped interview, hollow promises were made to air the social problem again, but forgotten on many fronts.
Arnab is not an anchor in the true sense.He shouts, bullies and tries to force his opinion on the penalists. In fact we want to hear the penalists not Arnab bacuse our opinion would be formed after hearing various siaes ofthe story.
