why not Amitabh
by Deependra Verma on Apr 02, 2016 09:34 AM | Hide replies

When you make Pratibha Patil the president of India why not Amitabh .He is also a public figure and never seen in any allegations even in Bofor case he came up clean. Is choosing acting as profession is crime? It is a right of a person to choose his profession and rise. We people loved him so much that for the gain in business the producers pay him . I think there is no point to ignore his capabilities and he may be a Presidential candidate

A mistake made by power-hungry politicos who had and have nothing to do with nationalism / patriotism does not mean it has to be repeated by others. The author has been able to nicely and correctly summarise the whole issue in the last two sentences of this article.
As the author has rightly pointed AB though has a larger than life image, has done next to nothing that does not further his interests commercially.

Bacchan is an utterly SELFISH & DECEITFUL man
by Hindustani on Apr 02, 2016 08:50 AM | Hide replies

Amitabh Bacchan is a highly opportunistic, business minded, selfish & deceitful person.

He has no fixed principles at all & changes his political likings as per his convenience. He is like a ship which has no fixed direction goes in the direction of wind.

At first, Rajeev Gandhi had shown lot of trust & support for him & gave him ticket from Congress party, but when Boforce came out he back-stabbed Rajeev & broke all his ties with Congress.

When he sighted that Congress is going through a bad face , he befriended with Samajwadi Party & Amar Singh. Amar Singh helped him immensely financially as well as morally, during his financial crisis & trying times. But the SELFISH man he is, he completely ignored & ditched Amar Singh, when Amar Singh was seriously ill & fighting for life & death in the hospital, this UTTERLY SELFISH COUPLE of Amitabh & Jaya didn't even gone to see him in hospital to console him when he was in the verge of life & death. That shows the SELFISHNESS OF THE MAN.

When Bacchan realised that Congress & Samajwadi can't fulfil his ambitions & BJP is the future, he ditched Samajwadi ship & joined Modi's Ship.

Now he is desperately trying to prove how much nationalist is he by doing theatrics such as weaving Flag animatedly or writing some animated tweets etc.

Tomorrow, if BJP loses in 2019 elections, this man will shamelessly again join Congress or Third Front etc.for Fame & Money.

Amitabh had been a great entertainer. Mind it ... people paid for that.

He have done nothing great like Salman Khan or Nana Patekar.

No for President.

Salman khan??? What did he do so great? I agree AB might be or might not be a good choice but Salman khan doing great things is something new knowledge to me. You are talking about the drinking and driving stuff?

very very true. he is ready to endorse even a Rs.5 product for his selfish gains. i would personally rate Rajnikant a better human being than amitabh.

Cheap journalism
by adam smith on Apr 02, 2016 05:01 AM | Hide replies

The whole article is RIDICULOUS! Has Amitabh Bachchan ever express his desire to be President? Splashing his photo along with this type of article heading is cheap journalism....trying to portray as if Amitabh Bachchan WANTS to be President.

Has Mr AB ever said that he wanted that Padma award or that National award?
And my guess is that he has always been eyeing the top constitutional position. That's why he has ruled himself out of the 'active' politics. This means he is open to the prospect of Presidency

I am sorry to say you call yourself an author? You cant even understand the difference between getting an award and becoming president! are they similar? what is wrong with you my friend? Is journalism going to run on your whimsical 'guesses'? Anyway, I concede its NOT YOUR FAULT. its the fault of this website which has given a platform to YOU, where you can express your 'guesses' & call yourself an 'author'!

Highly prejudiced article. As a citizen of this nation Amitabh has all right to be considered. He is well read and educated and knows about the entire length and breadth of the country.
