Yes, Abdul Hamid must also be given the same treatment. He is also a war hero. I salute him. K Ramani, Mumbai
We salute him. We need men like him now and for our future. Such herioc tales will always continue to inspire future generations. It is because of them that we always feel secured.
This articles has revived childhood memories. Capt Jasbir Singh, who died fighting along with Col. Tarapore was my elder brother. My father General Jang Shamsher Singh was the first Indian Commandant of the Poona Horse and immediately after Independence led the Regiment to get the Nizam of Hyderabad surrender to the Indian Union. I recollect my father telling us that Tarapore was young officer in Hyderabad cavalry. My father seeing a dashing young cavalry officer asked him to join the Poona Horse, which he did. Today we ae all proud of him. Our SALUTE to all those gallant Ranvirs of the Poona Horse who sacrificed their lives in the battle field.-- Vijay Bir Singh s/0 Gen. Jang Shamsher Singh.

Very few people from Mumbai read a commemorative plaque placed near main exit of platform 6 of Dadar CR station in Mumbai. It is in the memory of Col. Tarapore, after he was awarded Param Veer Chakar, posthumously.
