Salute to your great father and salute to you too. All have to die one day but to be remembered by one and all in a Hero's death, like ur dads death, is worth dying. Respects. Venkatesh Iyer
I Salute the Hero. I being a gunner officer and served in war and peace for 35 years, I wish the govt and the people of this country owe to the hero by dedicating themselves to the service of our motherland. Atleast refrain from taking bribe from veterans when they approach govt officials for small jobs to be done.
Mrs Boyce, They say soldiers are hard rock, after being in army for 25 years, reaching the end of the saga of Colonel Tarapore's courage became difficult with tears welling up in my eyes.

I appreciate your father's courage and efforts. May his soul rest in peace. Ramani...Mumbai
If you have read this piece and have shed a tear, you are worth the salt that Bharath Mata has endowed you with the flesh and blood to be born in this land.Whether we suceed in OROP are not does not matter a trifle, but we will give our life for our mother land when the call comes. I had been through the period from 1953 to 1971 with the IAF and the Generals who commanded us did not have the courage to get the troops what they deserved excepting Gen.Thimmaya who revolted against V.K.K.Menon !
