A Bandh Again
by sanil serial on Sep 02, 2015 11:15 AM

The young generation did not know this nonsense called BANDH, basically supported by Leftist parties. Since the decimation of Communism in Russia, Left parties have lost the nerve to call such Bandh. It seems this is a feeble attempt to show that some life is left in the Left. Tomorrow most people will remember only an UN PAID holiday. Like to see public response if Left dares to call a BANDH again next month.

False photo....
by Dattaprasad Prabhu on Sep 02, 2015 11:00 AM

The life in Mumbai is normal and nothing Bundh-like felt. The photograph of halted taxis in Mumbai is false photo and might be historic. This a clear example of paid or instigating news by Rediff and must be dealt with a violent force.

Bewakoob Bundh....
by Dattaprasad Prabhu on Sep 02, 2015 10:51 AM  | Hide replies

What Commies have to do with the well-to-do class of Bank & LIC employees? Anyway, this Bundh is nonsense and hardly going to affect the common except in the Left ruled states. Govt. must take stern action against participants and instigators too. For Govt employees, their services must be broken so that they can not deserve the monitory benefits after they retire as per the clear directives of the Hnble Suprem Court of India.

Approach any Ganwar persons to the nearby area to you (city, town of village) and ask their opinion about the Govt.or semi-Govt. employees in general and you will instantaneously come to know, "unwanted class of people, parasites over the public exchequer, 73% of the public money is swallowed by them".

Marxism is the entity of the past. Today, it exists only in backward and barbarous countries. The more one becomes affluent, he deserts Marxism. The more one becomes learned, he deserts religion. that is why Marxist don't allow to raise the standard of living and Mullas don't allow modern education in Madressas.

You may be partly right. However there is a lot of social security in those countries and their economies are much better off. In the Indian context, minimum wages are prescribed by the govt. and industry has to follow that. However when talking about Banks, Railways and other PSU's, their wages are much much above that of labour class people and most of them are getting salaries and perks at par with that of Central/ State Govt.; wheras their work quality and output is no way near that of the corporate world. That is why they do NOT deserve to be part of strikes and bandhs. They only look for excuses to not work. Even in Banks, Insurance offices etc. I have seen employees reaching late for office, taking extended lunch breaks or leaving early; it is very common and the public has to suffer for this. That is why they should be privatised and forced to work under the corporate world pattern. This is very much prevalent in the countries that you are talking about. Strikes are NOT acceptable and the striking worker cannot be excused. They can strike/ bandh on a sunday or holiday. The govt. should be courageous enough to comply with the Supreme Court orders/ ESMA on this matter, just as the WB Govt. has taken a strict stand on such matters.

I think those who support the bandh and sit at home are parasites feeding on tax payers money. They get paid for not working today.

Strict action should be taken against such just as the WB Govt. has decided. Privatisation of PSU's is THE only solution. Start with Banks, Railways, Post Offices, PSU Insurance companies etc.
