"civil society" is actually uncivil
by Raghavendra Ravi on Nov 05, 2015 08:05 AM

It is an irony as to how so few people with a political agenda can create so much make believe in such a short time in "worlds largest democracy"!! I am searching for the great intolerance these people are talking about. I dare say that level of intolerance has not gone up. Intolerance for Modi is becoming more visible - they are coming out of the closet. After stalling parliament, the next ploy is on.

Its true that India under PM Modi has not yet become a fascist country..but given the motor mouth BJP MPs efficiency to spread hatred in society and the subsequent silence of the top bosses of the Govt..it is only matter of time that India will become a nation of warring societies..While I support Mr. Srinivasan's most of the observations in the article..I only regret how come he missed to target the errant BJP MP's who does not adhere to party guidelines..and the subsequent lack of public communication to strongly denounce such hate speeches..Lack of statement of an otherwise wonderful and inspirational speaker is adding fuel to the fire...I hv no doubt that the "award wapasi" is a mere political stunt..no less distasteful than "ghar wapasi"..Last but not the least...pls stop demonizing M Teresa..why couldn't any Indian hv done what she did..there are no special public infrastructures for the physically disabled in the Metros..Did M Teresa resisted to build up such idea..? These kind of criticism certainly provide fuel to those pseudo-intellectuals..One shouldn't be such rustic to resort to such criticism.

no harm can come to the nation
by brian crasto on Nov 04, 2015 09:44 PM  | Hide replies

Its just a illusion that the country will disintegrate. The PM means business and will not harm the secularism of the country. Beef is not a issue at all. Its the people who left the country and going to leave the country are creating the illusion. The PM is a total and i admire people who are vvegetarian egeterians. Indian consists of 80% of Hindus and their sentiments should be respected.

Thank you Mr.Crasto for your understanding and goodwill!Actually, left to themselves, the Hindus and Muslims would get on well, but the pseudo-secular parties, especially the CPI(M) and the Congress wont let them be!These parties are the root cause of all the trouble in India!

you appear logically and factually right vijaya in response to castro.....congress and left are in utter despair by present ruling ideology which is likely to give ways to many would-be exposures of their nexus in terms of their policies--political, educational and cultural which has ruined this country so far....
