Arun Shourie

A disgruntled and disloyal element is suddenly waking up! He could have, yet, been given some bones to keep quiet. BJP is too naïve to be like this being in power.

Sold jewels for peanut
by SANJAY SRIVASTAVA on May 05, 2015 12:13 PM

Arun Shourie sold PSUs for peanut e.g Lodhi Hotel, BALCO, Hin. Zinc, Akbar Hotel, hotels of Agra and Mumbai, Palaces of Rajasthan for a sum as low as free during NDA tenure. A 46 room palace of Rahasthan was sold for few crores which at that time land of several hundred crores, similarly Lodhi hotel of Delhi had land at prime location valuing thousands of crores. In fact he should be behind the bars for misappropriation / misjudgement of loss amounting to thousands of crores, if not lacs of crores. Congress does wanted to expose him as they themselves were involved in looting public properties in their tenure. But, it is still not late to file a case against him and brought back the looted jewels from crooks, line with sprectrum & coal scams. We should raise our voice in all the forums on this issue .....

An unsuceessful Damage Control
by loriky on May 05, 2015 09:50 AM  | Hide replies

A little known writer is trying though unsuccessfully to counter Arun's genuine and sensible attack on Modi's annual performance.
To assess Modi's performance, one has not to be an economist or a political analyst; even a commonest man can say that Modi is a DISASTER during his first year of governance.
1. His world tour has yielded nothing; but made our neighbours and super power more alien to us
2. Price rise is north way resulting in tough life for poor and middle class
3. Law & order situation is all time bad, particularly in BJP ruled states
4.A brazen attempts by the govt to suit the interests of the few industrialists
5. unchecked fuel price hike is unimaginable considering the current international price dynamics
6.Unchecked lumpen elements in the government like- Giriraj Singh, Niranjana, VK sINGH ETC
7. Farmer suicide cases are the blot on Modi govt
8. Govt agri and Industrial policies are too ineffective to accelerate respective outputs

In totality, Modi is a big disaster and much below our expectations what he generated during electioneering.

Disaster. Nothing works. India is declining. No development. Everyone is committing suicide. GDP is down. Modi is responsible for rains, storms, earthquakes. India is doomed. Good. I like it.

Six reasons why Arun Shourie is wrong
by shahnawaz shaikh on May 05, 2015 09:37 AM  | Hide replies

Mr. Bisht, I am a common man and does not understand micro politics. What I waiting for is Acche Din. What happened in a year is all round price hike. our daily budget is gone out of our control. Where is the black money? Why farmers suicides not stopped? and why in the name of development their land will be acquired without their consent? Govt has millions of hectare of land in their possession. why they dont use it? The bottom line is that common man is burdened very heavily by this Govt in just a year.

I read one article yesterday by Kumaramangalam Birla where he said that it is not possible to turn around a badly managed company in one year. Systems and processes have to be put in place , hard decisions taken and then yes in 3 years , if the company fundamentals and products are good then nothing can stop the growth of the company. Similarly , it takes time to reverse the misrule , mismanagement and corruption of the UPA. Achche din will come but then why expect NDA to create this in one year when all of you suffered the inglorious days of the Congress and UPA for 10 years?? After all , everything that you are criticising NDA for was all the handiwork of the UPA. It is the overflowing sewage of UPA misrule that the NDa is trying to clean.

If UPA was so bad, then why your papa n Mom voted for them for second term?

Its you and your community who made your fortune in Congress rule and very conveniently changed the side for further looting our country.

Managing Headlines
by vinid raman on May 05, 2015 09:22 AM  | Hide replies

It appears Mr.Sudhir Bisht is part of the well oiled mechanism for Managing Headlines.
I was hoping to see solid counter-arguments when i started reading this article. It just ended with a whimper reinforcing my views that maybe there is a lot of substance in what Mr.Shourie has said.
Probably the Headline managers should look for a new recruit.

Well written and to the point. I am an admirer of Arun Shourie too. But I was surprised reading his views, and disagree with them too.
