BMC
by MNN on Jun 19, 2015 10:51 PM

BMC is run by corrupt to the core politicians , Bureaucrats whose only mission is to serve their political masters. But the biggest culprits of the city are the people of this city . I dare challenge the people of this city , are youll serious about this city . If so get out of your houses , get on to the streets , dont go to your offices , come out & protest against all these corrupt politicians , dont elect a single one again , bring this city to a standstill , till the govt takes note of this act . Force them to change this BMC. Stop recruiting people who are only interested in signing the daily muster , but spend their work hours somewhere else.
Another biggest thing that needs to be stopped once & for all stop the slums . If slums are not there , half of mumbais problem can be solved . Will the citizens of this city come out to bring the change ? Time will tell.

Heavy rains....
by asli mumbaikar on Jun 19, 2015 08:33 PM

Floods show he inefficiency of the BMC. It has a surplus and a budget of Rs35000 cr. It is spent in repairs to potholes and is never ending. They repair the same potholoes for the enth time.

If the names of the places had been indicated it would have been informative.

Garodianagar( Anadhnagar), ghatkopar east, was flooded and ground flats were flooded. what is BMC doing with the taxes collected from us...at a higher rate????

It is labelled as private layout and none touches it....neither developer, BMC nor courts.

3zAcche din for Bombaikars.
by Sabyasachi Ghosh on Jun 19, 2015 07:26 PM

Acche din have arrived in Mumbai.Where are the men who promised to bring in acche din and got the votes to grab the power for governance. Is this governance in true sense? This is not the first time rain has disrupted the essential services of Mumbai.Same thing is happening since last 30-40years.People, entrusted with the jobs in the past were good for nothing and the people at the helm of affairs in present govt worst for everything.Inefficiency is trained in BJP HQ.They know that they will be holding the chairs for another 4years, after that they will be as commoner as we are but they will have money at their disposal. Were I in their shoe, I would have been called a mole on face of society.

Learn....and learn QUICK!
by vikram mehta on Jun 19, 2015 06:37 PM  | Hide replies

Mr, X got stuck for 3 hours in traffic on way to work. Ms. Y waded through knee deep water to reach to the station from her home, only to find out that the train services are cancelled due to heavy rains. These are such familiar stories every year during monsoons in Mumbai. I think it is ridiculous and inexcusable that we Mumbaikars have to undergo this mess and misery every damned year...>.< Just not done. What is the BMC doing through the year? Why can there be no preparation through the year and at least 1 or 2 such pockets be made free of water logging progressively every year?? That way, at least in a decade, the place will be free of this problem. If it is to be made an international finance center, do the BMC and city authority think that they are going to achieve that with this lousy infra?I have personally walked back home in knee deep water on more than 3 occasions from various far-flung locations during the rains. Several countries in far east and tropics have a more dense population and far heavier rainfall. And yet they have much better roads, infra n rain preparedness. We have to learn QUICK and put things in place. We can no longer keep hiding behind the ineffectiveness and impotence of the previous government. Those objecting to infra development in name of slum preservation and vote bank politics should be rapidly sidelined and snowballed...all in the larger interest.
Jai Hind.
