Restrictions vary

Recently I was on a two week tour of Rajasthan where foreigners were allowed entry into Hindu and Jain temples. In Tamilnadu many temples charge a modest entry fee (which goes for the temple maintenance)and also allow the tourists to click pictures and make videos. No one is barred because of religion. Generally entry into churches is free as long as the visiting is not during congregation or prayer time. Bahai temples and Tibetan monasteries insist on observance of silence. In Telangana you can visit any historic mosque where a guide will help you with information.
It can be seen that there is a wide variation in the restrictions imposed in religious places. We should respect the same.
