You use your brain if you have. Sanjay Dutt can not get death penalty for the offence committed by him under the Arms Act for possession of arms illegally as confirmed by the Supreme court. The court are not working as per your like/ dislike.

Similar views hold that India has always been a banana Republic.

It was always half way up. The emergency is one pointer to this fact.

However, with the eventual sabotage of other institutions such as the Judiciary and the central bank (which the Modi govt is hard at work at), the transformation will be complete.

No sympathy with any terrorists, appeasement policy must be banned, all terrorists are either to be hanged or those who are sympathetic to them must bear the cost of upkeeping them in jail. Tax payers money should not be wasted on them.

I agree with Arungopal. Why waste public money on feeding and sheltering and giving security to those who have proven criminal records? The State should instead feed free the underprivileged and belowpoverty line people.

Prez Mercy for Yakub
by Anirban Das on Jul 29, 2015 11:36 PM  | Hide replies

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH Mr SARESHWALA. He has wonderfully pointed out the points of good Indian judiciary. But here something has been missed by the judges, may be unknowingly.

I, as an Indian citizen, too request Mr President Sir to mercy Yakub. I request Honorable Prez to consider the points said by ex-RAW chief as he was the head of the team responsible to bring Yakub to India from Nepal. He also mentioned how nicely Yakub behaved with the authorities. Yakub even later brought his whole family. The convict has given many vital information which were unknown to us.

PLEASE PREZ SIR, BEG U 2 MERCY YAKUB.
1. IF ANOTHER FUGITIVE (ABU SALEM) OF THIS BLAST CASE CAN GET LIFE IMPRISONMENT, THEN WHY NOT YAKUB?2. IS IT THAT INDIA SIGNED A TREATY WITH PORTUGAL IN CASE OF SALEM WHILE THERE IS NO SUCH THING IN CASE OF YAKUB?
3. CONSIDER THE POINTS OF EX-RAW CHIEF, LATE Mr B. RAMAN.
4. ALSO THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES IN THE WORLD WHERE CULPRITS, WHO COOPERATED WITH AND GAVE MANY VITAL INFORMATION TO THE AUTHORITIES OR BECAME STATE WITNESS, HAVE NOT RECEIVED CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. THEN WHY NOT YAKUB MEMON?
5. IT WILL GIVE A TOO GOOD EXAMPLE TO OTHER FUGITIVES TO COME BACK TO INDIA.
PLEASE PRESIDENT SIR CONSIDER HIS MERCY PETITION.

I agree with the points stated by Anirban Das.
In Yakub's hearing on 28/7/2015, Supreme Court Justice Kurian Joseph said "Law is not helpless and this court is not powerless."
Justice Joseph saw lapse in trying of Yakub's case by Supreme Court, in his curative petition and he was repeatedly saying that violation of Article 21 and 32 of our Constitution by the Supreme Court should be avoided, in delivering the judgement.
Hardly any one heard Justice Joseph's voice, and Yakub was hanged as per the schedule.
I am not a supporter of Yakub.
I support procedural fault and hurry in his execution, by bypassing still available some more judicial means, to him from execution.
In the case of Kasab, Government gave him all the legal support, till the end. This was not done in case of Yakub, in my opinion.

Why Tax payers should pay for their upkeep for whole life, it should be then paid by the person who is appealing.

No point in discussing all these things now. Courts have found their man to show the bravado, which is in line with the majority public opinion. However, the only worry is that the majority public opinion is based on misplaced anger. This is how it goes - if you can't catch hold of the person who has inflicted pain upon you, identify a person who is easily accessible and vent your anger on that person.

Balancing act??
by mosarraf hossain on Jul 29, 2015 10:00 PM  | Hide replies

Shri Shreshwalla is a political correct man.He has given the example of judiciary decision on Gujrat riots. He must understand the seeds of tolerance and coexistence instilled by our founding fathers led by first PM Panditji and nurtured by the previous governments whether congress, non congrss(Desai, vajpayee,Devegowda,Gujral,VPsingh,Chndra sekhar,Charan singh etc) are virtually a product of congress legacy all having faith on secular concept as written in the constitution and because of the overwhelming presence of left and social equality forces has no other way but to toe the line of tolerance and coexistence. All institution were manned by man believing in that concept. Now the present government has different concept of secularism and they want the numerical lesser one must surrender to the numerical major one.For governance it is trhe number which decide who shall rule but for following rule of law it must promote the peaceful coexistence and a concept of plural society. But momentum is in different directions and powerful forces in the ruling dis pension is spreading the concept of superiority of one above the other.PM Modiji must have a good intention when he say SABKA SATH SABKA VIKAS.But first step should be to restore the confidence of the minority that yes we are for good governance that ensures prosperity and peaceful yet honourable co existence of all in a plural society in law abiding manner.Yakub Memon's case has been decided.Hope it is for the good of nation.

There is nothing which prevents minority to behave as part of the stream. They themselves keep aloof. Modi ji is a person under whose regime India will have a correct secularism...the definition perceived by All Religions...respect for all religions....while practicing your own..this is the only way to progress.
