InSAS&DRDO

For once I am with Bedi. the INSAS & any variant produced by the DRDO is trash and i would recommend it only to my enemies. Hopefully, the DRDO deal doesn't materialise, cos it produces the lousiest infantry weapon that can ever b conceived. u don't need the enemy to harm u, a frequently failing and increasingly unreliable weapon system will do the job more effectively.

by amit saxena on Jul 18, 2015 12:49 PM

The media id getting foreign funding through NGO to stop the growth of nation. They dont want us to be self sufficient. Govt must stop so called intellectual created by foreign funding. Inflow of foreign funding should be regulated. The best example is AAP winning election from foreign funding to stop Modi.

It seems make in India is hurting USA, France and rediff.
In fact INSAS were as good as any rifle and now it is improved.
Why does Bedi want to import rifles when they are made as good in India.
"The Indian Army's recent decision to induct an indigenously developed assault rifle follows yet another instance of its failure to import one, after formulating unrealistic Qualitative Requirements for a weapon system that is simply non-existent.
It seems cancellation of order has hurt WRITERS EUROPEAN and AMERICAN masters very much

If we stop imports of all / most arms the foreigners lose a few BILLION US$ business everyyear. Our "locals" loses crores Rs every year, as kickbacks. Compared to this value what is the cost of planting several artiles in Indian prees, to bad mouth all Indian products.

On the whole, this article is quite disturbing. With one or more extremely extremely unfriendly neighbours, we should not hesitate to spend money for defence forces' requirements, even if it means severe austerity for the people. Government can start the austerity by stopping populist and vote-bank subsidies, e.g., those for pilgrimages.
In passing, one is unable to understand what is an "enchanted weapon system" ("The Excalibur is unlikely to emerge by 2017-2018 as an enchanted weapon system.") Is it a misprint for "enhanced"?

ARDE is undoubtedly the "Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE)", which is part of DRDO, a fact that ought to have been explicitly mentioned.

DRDO is an organisation which have developed Continental ballistic missiles without help from foreign countries.
Our Ballistic misslies now cover a range from whole of Pakistan, Si Lanka right upto Theran and Beging and Australia.
Now you are trying to tell us that DRDO CANNOT DESIGN SIMPLE rifle.
WE SHOULD NOT IMPORT.
We can make rifles and we can make missiles and we have made nucler bombs.
Tellthis message to UR European masters

Absolutely disturbing. Irrespective of Govt/parties in power, they have screwed up. I had read an article a couple of years back to highlighting the same issue. Nothing has changed since then, only got worse with this decision
