Not necessarily IP.
Apart from habitual drinkers and alchoholics, tobacco is 100% harmful even a single puff, compounded by the menace of passive smokers.
As a matter of fact occasional drinking is beneficial for heart and BP, reducing nervous strain and actually can uplift the soul, loosening your mind , tongue and wallet for the needy. The by word is occasional and moderation !

no. smoking will affect only the person consuming it...but alchohol is prone to kill others..by way of drunken driving, drunken mind, abuse women etc....Also no amount of justification to consume alchohol is either acceptable or scientifically proven (i.e) it is good for health...IT WILL DESTROY LIVER/ SPLINE....SO DO NOT MISGUIDE

sir! smoking harms others more than the smoker. Worst part of it is that most of the smokers don't even realize how much trouble they are causing to others. In fact, they don't like to be bothered, if someone complaints.

After I practice Yoga & martial art, nervous strain is reduced. So, exercise is a much better way to reduce strain.

People are all not Brilliants.
Theft, Rape, Crime ie., are done by our people. But, illigal.
Same way Tobacco & Liquor should be BANNED by Govts.
Also, monitored by Governments to implement the ban properly.
THAT IS THE DUTY OF GOVERNMENT.
That will cause for 50% development of our COUNTRY.

FACTS.
by indianpatriot on Dec 26, 2015 10:20 PM  | Hide replies

1. The probability of Health hazards by Alcohol is atleast 20x times MORE than Tobacco Smoking.
2. Tobacco increases awareness and concentration while Alcohol reduces both.
3. The risk of Liver and Stomach cancer is more with Alcohol consumption than Lung cancer with Smoking.
4. Tobacco smoking increases intelligence and brain grey area. This is testament to the fact that Eastern Europe, China and Japan along with Korea have the highest concentration of Tobacco smokers proving that on a general scale those with a higher IQ are more predicted to smoke than those with Low IQ. For example: India has the lowest concentration of smokers but Alcohol consumption is rampant in India across all classes of society.

5. THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT which probably the so called educated masses are not AWARE of - A single Traffic smoke from a passing vehicle inhaled is equavalent to 200 Ciggeratte smokers passive Inhalation......But strange are the laws that Public smoking is banned while Petrol Vehicular sales is encouraged.

Strange laws and Strange society.

OH and i FORGOT

A ciggeratte smoker is not going to run over his car over poor people and kill them while an Alcohol drinker will kill them and then run away with no conscience before the law.

Neither is a Tobacco smoker going to come home and abuse his wife/family while an alcohol drinker is more than likely to do that.

But the hypocrisy of condemnation of Smoking while ALLOWING Alcohol to go by scot free especially in this country is so nauseating.

Most of the smokers are alcoholic too; bad things go together. Bad thing with smoking is that it harms others too while alcohol harms only to the drinker. Worst part of smokers is that they don't realize that others are suffering until they get kicked.

Which smoke is more dangerous?
by Jo on Sep 24, 2015 06:27 PM

For the common man (highly misled), tobacco smoking is the most dangerous. However, little do people realize that 'Industrial smoke' & 'vehicular smoke' is the most dangerous, far, far more dangerous than 'tobacco' smoking. Climatic changes & melting of the polar ice-caps, besides rising sea levels, are not happening because of tobacco smoke, but because of world-wide industrial & vehicular smoke. Tobacco smoke kills just a few millions in the world, while industrial & vehicular pollution kills the 'world' itself. The educated masses should wake-up to the realities of life and start talking about stopping Industrial & Vehicular pollution. Just food for thought!

It says 87 smokers per thousand (not million).

BLR - with a population of 6m translates to 5,22,000 smokers (not 500)
