Tolerance
by Badari Narayanan on Jan 12, 2015 04:38 PM  | Hide replies

Tolerance towards the intolerant is a crime, the Mahabharath and Ramayan teaches us to guard against such convoluted views. Unfortunately, Gandhi neither understood this nor did he allow others to take a firm stand against injustice

Mahabharat was a war against injustice. You have conveniently ignored injustice and holding war close to your heart.

This Mahatama taught 4 lessons:
1. Truth (SATYA)
2. Firmness (ADIGTA)
3. Fearlessness (NIDARTA)
4. Accepted very simple life(FAKIRI) till every Indian become self sufficient.
At least our leaders and Govt. servants just follow 4rth one, every thing will be resolved.

You are right. Gandhi was not only relevant for all times but also for all places. He inspired Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela and who achieved equal rights and justice for the blacks through non-violent means without bloodshed.

Tolerance is giving to every other human being every right that you claim for yourself; The highest result of education is tolerance; Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness but signs of strength; Tolerance implies a respect for another person irrespective of weather he is right or wrong but because he is a human.

Raghavendra Rao , your message is clear and lucid. It cannot be put in a better way. Compassion and tolerance can never be signs of weakness and always lead to the creation of a better society for all.

Religion is never a binding factor. You have seen division of Pakistan and destruction in Pakistan.

Countries that have risen above religious barrier and have given importance to reasoning, logic, equality and have abolished discriminatory practices have flourished.

We have to choose whether we will be governed by sentiments of rationality.

Rationalise Society.
by gopinath shanthachar on Jan 12, 2015 03:15 PM

'The Change' is the law and right of nature and society. Mahatma Ghandhi or his followers should make note of this. Co existence does not have any meaning today. Each should be handled on case basis.
