why Narendra Modi and Sonia Gandhi shy away from taking questions of journalists in public fora is that neither has the required intellect nor is articulate enough to answer without shooting himself/herself in the foot !
The other common trait about these two persons is that both know their limitations in this matter well enough (though Narendra Modi was made to realize it the hard way when he was left speechless, gulped, gasped, stammered and finally walked out in a huff on Karan Thapar in a televised interview!).

Karan Thapar thinks that he is the only intelligent analyst in the world. Do you remember how Jaya snubbed him saying that (when he said it was a pleasure meeting her and extended his hand for handshake), it was a waste of time for her and did a folded hand Namaste! He deserved it fully.
And intellectually hollow. While Sonia avoids them because she neither has understanding nor can speak..modi avoids them because he understands they are useless bunch of sensation seeking timewasters

Just looking for breaking news and distorting facts. They look for soft targets and have misplaced priorities. And they are too egoistic. They lack intellectual depth and prioritize non issues for sensation and trp..shame on them
Why should he give interviews to the media? Almost without exception, ALL of them have proved to be Presss_titt_utes and news traders of the worst kind.
We have had enough of the incestuous relationships between Congress/left and corrupt media. Witness Nira Radia case. There is not a shred of credibility left in Indian media.

Most people of India have no issues with the communications of the PM. Twitter, Mann ki Baat and his periodic speeches are more than sufficient to know what he is up to.
