Blame the British for partition.
by Venkatesha B on Aug 13, 2015 08:47 PM  | Hide replies

Putting the onus of partition entirely on Nehru and Jinnah means we are removing the blame from the British. Had Nehru and Jinna not on the helm, British would have used some other trump card. Anyhow, they would not have left this land without division. By blaming our leaders alone, we are doing what the British want us to do. Even after the independence, what would have made our leaders to select Mt Baton as the first President-equivalent ? I think, the events of that time not presented to us truthfully so that we may blame the leaders endlessly.

This is a fact much overlooked. Nehru was leader of the masses and Jinnah for all his record of being in the forfront of freedom struggle, succumbed miserably to cheap partisan politics which was only eagerly exploited by British.
I can only pray that now if at least we remain together as a confederation if not as one united nation, people of both nations stand to benefit a lot. Pkistan ,especially their army has to realize this; the sooner the better.

I don't know what you are talking about. But in Bengal Hindu zamindars were the oppressors and the Muslim peasants were at the receiving end. The religion and social divisions just coincided. It was historically ineviatable clash.

Love to read the article..........It is Jawaharlal(60%) and Jinnah(40%) responsible for death of millions and and the hostile atmosphere in the sub-continent till today, the referee was biased during the clash between the two power-mongers and egoist men.........Bengalis and Punjabis are the worst sufferer of the partition of India....it is the politics that made those two guilty-men responsible for partition heroes of the sub-continent.........

Nehru also responsible
by kumar kn on Aug 13, 2015 06:33 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone knows how Nehru had a burning desire to be the first PM of independent India. Have we not seen in the film "Gandhi" that when Gandhi asks Nehru if he would agree to Jinnah becoming the PM to avoid partition, Nehru replies " Will the people agree" and rejects the offer.

Also poor Sardar Patel got a raw deal. In the Congress Working Committee to decide the Pm Nominee Sardar was backed by around 18 members to be the first PM while Nehru got only 3 votes from UP representatives. Gandhi played a dubious role in convincing Sardar to withdraw from the race and agree to Nehru being the PM. The good soul that Sardar was, he could not go ahead against his Guru's advice. The rest is history.

Yes, that the main reason; If Sardar Patel an iron man he was, had been become PM then the history of India would have been different.
We would not facing the Kashmir issue as we are getting suffered till now.
Gandhi was assassinated for the same reason which you mentioned.
