For the benefits available under the guise of reservation for downtrodden those 85% of the population, who are with Mr.K.K.Bose, want caste-system to remain. Remove reservation and allow fair and healthy competition, and you will find that the caste system will vanish. The issue is not social but IT IS ECONOMICAL. Get this into your nut Mr. Bose.

the issue is social. Only in india we have this wretched form of discrimination based on caste.The beneficiaries of this caste system do not want to 'see' the social aspect!!!
It is a pity that Rediff is giving this news so much importance. It is just another ploy to malign Hinduism. Hindu Bashing is a favorite game of media. The writer 'Archana Masih' should have covered more burning topic than this. OBC and SC/ST are enjoying so much of privilege.
Has he the guts to give similar ultimatum to ISIS, Boko Haram, Al - Qaeda etc for what they are doing to the persons not following Islam, like Yazidis, Christian etc. Based at Dubai but he cannot see these atrocities. This a just a ploy to get a bit of publicity.
In Modern India, there is lots of Discrimination based on Economic status, Property, Education, Percentage wise also there is discrimination, if we go outside they discriminate between Good Looking and ugly, Good and Bad behaviours, Rich and Poor, Fair and Dark, and so many other parameters.
We were Racist from the beginning based on Caste and Nature of work, now there is blatant discrimination and comparison in almost each and every field even between Relatives of the same family and with siblings.
But the ppl who r njoying the free benifits, and reservations would never agree to dissolve caste. they r hypocrites. they never wish to compete in mainstream. they need discrimination on their favor. they yell as once u upper caste ppl did like that, like this and so on. ....but they never ready to abolish it completely.
they just want to stay in low caste, njoy low caste, and to be feeded by the tag of low caste.

In Modern India, Lower castes have Maximum Reservation everywhere and have become powerful and rich only by Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution which is completely tweaked in their favour, and not on talent or merit.

Reservation prevails for all religions and caste except for brahmins and baniyas all others are covered under SC/ST/OBC/MINORITY ECONOMICAL BACKWARD CLASS ETC.
