TN in dire straits
by Ramesh bharat on Oct 02, 2014 06:13 AM  | Hide replies

TN is in dire straits.. with acute power crisis and no leader, TN wll miss out on all development acitivities...the dravidian parties are full of illiterate thugs..they made use of the ignorance of illiterate tamils..spread tamil chauvinism, brahmin-hatred and in turn became billionaires, while the averga tamil lands up in tasmac or run behind film stars.. no wonder small cities like bangalore and hyderbad have overtake chennai by atleast a decade

When has AIADMK been anti-brahmin? In fact there is no party other than AIADMK that doesn't thrive on divisiveness. Blore was always ahead of Chennai in IT and Hyd is not even near Chennai, let alone Blore. In any case TN is for the first time #2 in GDP and #1 in manufacturing. HDI too is better off in last 30 years with the state a close second to KL. Cong and BJP are both corrupt, divisive and anti-Tamil

Madras was india's first modern city established by the Brits..it had the advantage of getting a major head start interms of modern education, infrastructure...many of british india s institutions had their origins in madras..now where is chennai...it's. Not even the 4th important city now.. It's been pushed to 6th place behind the. 3 metros and bangalore and Hyderabad..such a shame

Rajini is biased and supports kannadigas than tamilians
by Tamilnadu Now on Oct 02, 2014 05:10 AM  | Hide replies

Rajini will not enter tamilnadu politics and he will politely walk away like Sonia Gandhi who didnt accept the PM post.

Rajini never supported Cauvery issue in favor of tamilnadu and in fact he said the committe will decide the right thing. So he doesnt want to fight for tamils on any issue. He is by birth kannadiga and will be kannadiga. In fact, hear Rajini's public speech in tamil. He is really butchering the language.

DMK will not allow Rajini to enter the policies.

Modi is not smart in inviting Rajini to enter tamilnadu BJP party. Modi should know that Rajini clout is only fans not people of tamilnadu. Hope Modi doesnt make similar mistakes in foreign policy without a thorough vetting process.

@Prakash Sharma - No need for name calling here. Lets be polite to the forum to have a constructive conversion.

@SivaSankaran Sarma - Sonia married to Rajiv Gandhi too and Sonia rejecting PM post is the right thing to do. While Rajini shouldn't enter in tamilnadu but his wife and kids can certainly.

Rajni fans are limited to silver screen. There is no data collected showing that all the fans seeing him as strong politician given his very light involvement for betterment of tamils in tamilnadu and in other countries.

Rajini having more love towards kannadiga/karnataka is not wrong at all. As a matter fact, as I am a die-hard tamilian, Rajini is die-hard kannadiga.

In any case, I would like to hear others opinion on this. What makes you to support or oppose Rajini in TN policities given that Rajini did NOT support tamils from sri lanka, no philanthropy work for tamils, did not support tamils in cauvery issue?

No doubt Rajini is popular and is a good human being. But to think that TN will vote for him just because of that, is farfetched.

Absolutely right. BJP is no less corrupt and just because Modi escaped punishment in 2002 and allowed evidence to be wiped out doesn't mean he is not guilty. In any case BJP is antitamil and communal. So is Cong.

not true
by Ashish Sharma on Oct 02, 2014 01:16 AM

For an iconic actor like Rajini whose fan following spreads across the country and abroad, irrespective of the language barrier, he doesn't need any hype either political or non-political to promote his movies. It's completely baseless to say that he uses hype.

simply baseless
by Ashish Sharma on Oct 02, 2014 01:12 AM

Completely insensible to say that an icon like Rajinikant will use politics to hype his film. Even his less performing films can generate more for its producers than super hits movies of many other stars. His fans following spreads across Indian irrespective of the fact whether they understand any South Indian language or not. So don't say anything loose of him... mind it.

Gnani sankaran
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Oct 02, 2014 12:02 AM  | Hide replies

Gnani sankaran is a typical Dravidian Party ignoramus. He does not know much about Indian or local politics and claims to be a top-level political analyst. The charges against Jayalalaitha are nothing in magnitude as compared to those against her political opponents including the family members of Karunanidhi and his ministers. This is a temporary phase and DMK cannot come to power so easily with poor governance and bad economic record. Gani Sankaran has made a biased political analysis.
