FAITH in PEACE needs EDUCATION
by M on Oct 01, 2014 11:51 AM

Here "teach" means by "WAR/FORCE/VIOLENCE/AGGRESSION" in COVERT or OVERT fashion;
If literally these ideas are used for WIN over a nation , all I can say is the idea has lost its purpose;
In todays world no-one YES no-one either an individual or a nation can win another by FORCE to chage its course of action out of fear or incapacity,

There is only one solution YES only one solution for convergence towards PEACE or Coexistance of wisdom is mutual respect of Society and Culture
and to generate a faith in the peaceful future for the coming generations and not fixed ideas based under present perceptions;

PEACE brings sustainable future and VIOLENCE breaks the future into pieces and also the hope of the society into mankind and its wisdom;

CHINESE INTRUSIONS.
by Ganesh Surath on Oct 01, 2014 11:46 AM  | Hide replies

India needs to display a aggressive posture on the LAC with the Dragon as a deterrent.Every intrusion has to be countered with localized aggressive defence to checkmate the Dragon moves.

India should be agrresive in Chinese occupied areas. Peaceful solutions do not work agaist habitual aggressors. Mody should stop all imports from China. There is entire balance world for Export and import. Chianese are
invading India in market and also
in Chumar and Tibet. We must firmly reply on both fronts. Military pact with Japan and US. will help in controlling Chinese ambitions.

If it was the fomer UPA regime
by piri on Oct 01, 2014 11:31 AM  | Hide replies

that was in power when the Chinese made this big series of transgressions, a bigger segment of the Indian middle class as well as this retired LG of the Indian Army would have limited their "analysis" to the weakness of the Indian PM !

And time and context and nature of transgressions would not have made any difference to their inference at all !

However, the Chinese upped the ante and stomped around repeatedly far inside Indian territory only after Komaaaali Modi, in his all pervasive stuxpidity, brayed out something against China in Japan !!

war is just out of the question.
by brian crasto on Oct 01, 2014 11:30 AM

I was in the defence in 1980 expecting a war. I know war can never take place as it will cripple both the nations. Though China is assertive it is not interested in war and are just interested in business. So it is better to negotiate with them and keep mantain cordial relation. The US is itself have asserted force on them as they US own almost 800 billion to China. Today China is much powerful because they have got a good manpower. Unlike in the past where people is to join defence for the sake of patriotism. Today it is another job opportunity. Most of the top defense officers are now settled in developed countries so we dont have people who are committed to the nation to fight a war

Reality Check
by Indian Guest on Oct 01, 2014 11:24 AM  | Hide replies

The world need to re-check the history before India’s independence when it comes to border issues being raised by Pakistan and China. At the time of India’s independence, Kashmir was neither part of Pakistan nor China and India never annexed it unilaterally. In fact, Kashmir on its own joined India and at that time, no part of Kashmir was ever part of either Pakistan or China. So, the claim of Pakistan that Kashmir is theirs is not tenable at all in the first instance. And in fact Pakistan had attacked India (in Kashmir area) when Kashmir chose to join India and it continue to unauthorisedly occupy a part of it (PoK). Pakistan must drop its claim on Kashmir and even the PoK portion being unauthorisedly occupied by it must also be returned to India and settle this issue once and for all. If we take the history, it can be seen that Pakistan, instead of concentrating on its own development, has been hanging on to Kashmir issue (which never existed so far as Pakistan is concerned) and that resulted in its present state of affairs (transformed into a failed state while India progressed).

The other most important fact is that Kashmir would have been more advanced/developed had the development not been hindered due to interference in the region. The armed forces deployed there is for protecting the life and property of the region and we have made all possible efforts to protect the interests of every part of the country.
Moreover, the border issues being raised by China are also not tenable as the parts which China says belong to it were never part of China even at the time of India’s independence. After India’s independence, the whole world knows that India had never attempted to annex any province to it. So, the border issues China and Pakistan claim with India are just imaginary and the history itself is witness to it. So, these countries must refrain from raising such issues at any forum or level and instead, be good neighbours and come together to make this world a worthy place to live in

Teach China
by deepali shenoy on Oct 01, 2014 11:20 AM

Negotiations r always 2 b made in position of strength. India needs to upgrade defence capabilities urgently & on a large scale. This is the only way to counter China. The "Dragon" was never trustworthy nor will it ever b in future. Leave aside all trade & commerce with China and demarcate borders 1st without conceding wat is rightfully ours.

Easier said than done!
by kunaal gaikwad on Oct 01, 2014 11:20 AM

Lt. General Chait is being very simplistic when he says that the only way to ' teach China a lesson' is to enhance its military capabilities in the region. And how do we do that? Our track record in inducting the most basic military equipment is riddled with scams, corruption cases, blacklisting firms etc. For instance, we have not been able to induct 155 mm howitzers since the Bofors guns were inducted three decades ago! We have blacklisted every reputed manufacturer and our OFBs, less said the better. The elephant needs to dig in but its tusks have to be sharpened first. And that will take a lot of doing!
