for conservatives, purity starts from what they perceive as the beginning of their cultural history.
get married as early as possible...take special sanction for reduction in marriage age...change attitude towards married youth for studies and jobs..there is no other way...late marriages are like expecting constant flow from dryiedup or drying up stream...
Interesting article. I lived in Mumbai and enjoyed friendship with many Parsis. They are breath of fresh air in the conservative Hindu community. I like that they are forward thinking, progressive, fair minded people. I saw lots of interfaith marriages which are good for Parsis. They suffer from genetic disorders due to marrying in their community for over thousand years. I think a Parsi is going to live and thrive as a good human even if he or she is not living as Parsi in Mumbai.
Parsis have mind of their own, they dont need advise to increase their population by the advise from others. We believe in quality and not quantity. Tjere are other sub-communities in our country who also are on the verge of extinct. Please leave us alone. No Government is relying on our vote bank. But en cashing the concern for publicity.

Not that i agree with the campaign, but that inbreeding is messing up the quality by the way, just check how many hereditary diseases the community suffer from.

Do you know for sure which govt has approved it? I think this has been initiated and the policy has been drawn before this govt has taken over.

You are a racist. And in fact its such racists like you who have contributed to this trend. Here is something a Parsi woman has told on this : “Many girls marry outside the community and so they and their children are not considered Parsis. Also even the spouses of boys who are from other communities are not taken into the Parsi fold though there have been exceptions,” So, in a way govt is telling them to maintain "purity of genes". Its like treating them like pandas, and the women like baby making machines. Its insulting for the community as well. And since most Parsis are educated, unlike you, have rightfully come against this ill conceived campaign.

but at the same time india provided shelter to them when no one would. You also have to look at the fact that any body marrying out side the fold does not get any moolah in the community, that itself is a bit racist dont you think so.
