I am so impressed by these two great SAMARITANs that inspires me to meet these Humanistic personalities in person and thank them.provided I know their addresses or phone nos. - a SENIOR CITIZEN -
The activists for human rights ought to go there along with anti pollution vocalists and the religious leaders. Seems only the guns and ammunition suppliers have access to Somalia.
Why does some society prosper and others go into unlimited depths of suffering! What is the deciding factor? Is it corruption, is it arrogance of strength, is it attraction towards easy money by way of threats and violence or is it basic foolishness of people? Why some countries of the world prosper while others go to dumps! Prospering countries have people even from unlucky countries contributing towards their riches.
Congrats guys. Well done Mr. Shetty. It is rare to see govt. officials showing interest in other human beings. Great job Mr.Bahri. Keep up the good work.
4 plus years for a deal..........if it was some scams it would have been over in less than 24 hrs...how about a kidnapped Neta ka beta!! less than 12 hrs....simple common folks..4.5 yrs..how shameful how horrible is Indian pride...Indians are basically treated with scant respect because we are a nation of lethargic spineless people...our leaders have better things to do than to salvage national pride..scams,swiss ,hawala,deals,loot..these works keep our netas and babus busy so where is the time to raise the nations pride and role..hope some day my nation is represented by Indians...

It is correct, the erstwhile govt.and netas(Congress-especially headed by Salman Khurshid as External Affairs Minister) neglected the Indian pride for 4 years could atlast be done by the new BJP Govt. within 4 months of their rule, obviously because of their National and patriotic ethos. I wish that this Govt. could get the release of 51 Indian POWs (of 1971 war) from Pakistan jails which was not hitherto bothered by CONGRESS regime combined with great secularists LALU and Mulayam regimes. This is a strong wish from this Senior citizen of India. Already we might have lost some precious indian lives in Pakistan Jails like Sahid Sarbajit singh etc.
Wish all such pending cases are sorted out..world over! We give relief to individual and build good relations...cooperation! Thanks for all valuable special efforts by all! With more greenery let Somalia not be a famine land or land of collections!

Best wishes to all freed for better life! Please spread message of non violence , peace and harmony...It will mean big for all!
A real good piece. An eye opener of the highest order. I am able to perceive clearly the problems encountered by the government, affected families and good Samaritans working round the clock to render help. The naming of a government official shows how the officials too get involved and offer solace beyond the call of the duty. Overall it is a great combination. Let us hope that in future no one has to endure such tortures and the pirates too find decent vocation and lead a meaningful life.
Wonderful article. Mr Bahri deserves thanks for doing wonderful services to these seafarer country men.We need more people like Mr Shetty. It makes me happy to find that We have Indians like Mr Bahri & Mr Shetty.

Thank You Mr Bhattacharjee. Surely, we have many more senior officers like Mr Shetty who are very devoted to humane issues.
Well it is nice to see that the government is trying to bring back the kidnapped sailors. While this is a good effort on the part of the government it is also required by the government to prevent these kidnaps and ransom requests. When it is well known that the route taken by the pirates are demarked and best avoided then it would be wise for the Indian ships to avoid these routs. On the other hand there are several fishermen, and other sailors captured by countries like Iran. The government needs to open its eyes to the other missing Indians as well.
