Karnad

Is Mr. Karnad deliberately forgetting other riots in the country. He is blaming the chief minister of Gujrat for only 1 riot in his entire leadership. that riot was controlled totally within 3 days. What about many many riots happened and are happening in other Congress ruled states? Has he forgotten Anti- Sikh riots of 1984 which lasted some months. Mr. Karnad even forgotten the statement of the then Prime Minister who has openly endorsed it by saying Falling of a big tree will have tremors. Mr. Karnad has forgotten the post- Godhra riot was a unprovoked reaction to a planned massacre. He has forgotten riots of 1992 and 1993 repeat riots in Maharahstra. Anyway it was his opinion. Majority of people of this nation think otherwise.

It is fashionable to talk loud about one minority in Indian intellectuals. They dont care for minorities which does not make power equations change.

What apology
by ramanujam narayan on May 19, 2014 11:43 PM

Mr. Karnad what apology congress did. it is just lip service and making a sikh PM only to use him as a rubber stamp. Non of the congress goons were arrested or convicted till date and all are roaming scott free. What do you mean, you can kill anybody and then apologise everything will be okay. In Modi's case even the Supreme court has given a clean chit which is not so in the sikh riot. How can you be so biased

What a sad interview of an "intelligent" man. Such vitriolic outpouring does not suit Girish Karnad. However in a democracy everyone has a right to say what they want. But coming from Karnad is real tragic. Whoever has said if a few thousand muslims are killed it is ok? Sure it is not ok. So is the killing of any single person too - not ok. Would not like to say much here but Karnadji it is not expected of you too pour so much acid - I do respect you a lot. This interview has brought that respect a notch down, though it does not matter to you.
