educated
by Sanjay M on Aug 14, 2014 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

If the women is educated then Indian husbands push them to work to earn a double salary. Only those that are not educated are forced to do house labour like cooking. Indian men utilize woman nicely . All gentlemen coming to this site use wife's salary to enjoy his personal pleasures. If a woman can earn money she knows how to utilize it. Her husband do not need to tell her. And about the facts of the article.. come on it is rediff. you trust them?

Backward regions have more working women!
by Avijit SinghaRoy on Aug 14, 2014 04:54 PM

Its strange to see that developed areas like NCR, Punjab,Hariana,Gujarat, Kolkata have less working women than backward areas like Chattisgarh, Orissa, North Eastern States. It means people from backward region earn so less that Husband and wife both need to work for their living.

The COLOUR CODE for KERALA MAY not be correct
by Edison John on Jun 17, 2014 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

The colour for Malabar area in Kerala MIGHT be correct. The colour given for the rest of Kerala is INDEED WRONG. Get into any Office ( Govt or Private) and count the heads of female workers ! Even a head count can be take of female workers in Paddy fields, and working women's groups known by various names as " Kudambashree " etc., etc., The figures will be shocking to the authors of this article .

This data looks accurate for me, as a Malayali. Muslims obviously don't let women work, no wonder places like Malappuram have the lowest rate in India.

Even otherwise, as a state that is least developed and most educated, there is a serious issues with employment for educated women. Obviously they take whatever white collar jobs is available, but there are so many educated girls doing nothing. Most of my cousins who are post graduates or professionally qualified, don't work.

Since Kerala doesn't have big cities and people live in small towns and viallages that are more like cities, jobs for qualified women is a real issue. Even at the lower ends, most wives of Gulf mallus don't work.

You are wrong in your assumption.

20 % of the entire female population out working is not an insignificant thing. Such a proportion of women in the workforce will be very much make women very conspicuous to the public.

As for other states that have 50 % or thereabouts of their women working, it can be attributed in the main to the abysmal level of wages in those states and also the acute poverty levels that drive women to go out to join their menfolk to work for wages that range from as low as Rs. 40 per day to a maximum of Rs. 100 !

Anyone attempting to pay less than Rs. 400/- per day to a woman in Kerala would not ever dare do that again in his or her life. You understand what I mean ?

Massive Problem Here
by RSS on Jun 09, 2014 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

If you give Education, they will become Ballistic & Ruthless towards males,

If you don't give them their Rights / Education / Respect then males will be criminalized.

If they become Boss, males lose the job.

If they become Wife, they get to enjoy everything. Male gets blamed and penalized for each and everything.

So Males are worthless in Modern era and must stand like MMS Puppets in front of Sonia !!!!

Men basically ARE worthless.

Just think - Women excel in all jobs which men do, yet men don't do a single job which women used to.

Even if you see in nature, men are not that important.

One man and nine women can deliver nine babies in nine months. Nine men and one woman can produce only one baby in nine months.

Low population of men, doesn't make ANY impact and would hardly affect the society and human population. Low population of women=catastrophe. Population would start declining.

Do you see how worthless men are....even for nature??

Society-wise, high population of women has a positive impact in the society. On the other hand, high population of men=increase in crime rate. 95% of prisoners of the WORLD are men.

Right from rearing families to earning, women can do all jobs solo.

Worship women. Men are good only for that.

Working women
by chalu maal on Jun 05, 2014 01:16 PM  | Hide replies

Most of the women (specially educated women) do not work to help their family. They go to office so that they get respite from household work and spend time gossiping with other women..also party harder..
