Most of the women (specially educated women) do not work to help their family. They go to office so that they get respite from household work and spend time gossiping with other women..also party harder..
My daughter seems Nair working asAAO under PAG AUDIT III MUMBAI HAVING TWO SMALL KIDS ANDHUSBAND WORKINGIN MUMBAI HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO DELHI TO AOO.MODATE SOMEBADYS WIFEFROM KERALA. THIS IS THE PLIGHT OF WORKING WOMEN,welfare. Can u do some thing? If not keep quiet and allowTheemto suffer.
Your criterion for "working " has to be defined.The North-eastern states have been shown as having the least percentage of working women.In fact in these states,particularly,Nagaland,Mizoram and Manipur where Ihave lived for two years women rather than men work in the fields.Do you not consider this as working?

Lolz, you lived there for two years and you can not spot that region on the map!!! How can you move your mouse over delhi and think of that and North east India.
Why less percentage of women are working in metros? Look at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Hyderabad, BaNangalore, Chennai, etc. It seems in rural parts more women are working.

its simple in rural most women works as labourer, farmer to support their families ...not necessary working women means sign of education or prosperity!

most rural women are involved in farm work, helping family business or some sort of employment.
