forget the past
by veerapuram dharan on Mar 22, 2014 07:54 PM  | Hide replies

why drag something which happened 50 years back? if we want to forget 2002, 1984 etc, then we should forget 1962 as well. what is important is whether we are learning lessons or not? most of the citizens believe the nehru clan has not learnt a lesson where as they believe namo has learnt it. more over, nehru is a freedom fighter who has grown up learning non violent ways to tackle a problem. thatst he reason he was half hearted when the 1962 war broke out. poor chap, let his soul rest in peace.

We need to learn from history. The state of affairs has not improved much. If it was Nehru who provoked Chinese then, it is China that could be tempted now due lack of defence-preparedness in the last 10 years, courtesy defence minister as reported in news columns.

Casteism caused India's rout in the 1962 war with China
by Kumar on Mar 22, 2014 12:32 AM  | Hide replies

Pandit Nehru appointed his fellow casteman Mr. Kaul as the sole decision maker, overriding all the generals and soldiers. Because of Mr. Kaul's incompetence, India suffered a humiliting defeat. The caste system continues to hurt India.

Nehru was supporting B.M.Kaul,the GOCin C of eastern command. And this coward, after consuming concentrated saline coplained of stomach problem and evacuated to Delhi for treatment ,from which he came out only when chinese declared a unilateral cease fire.Nehru was a womaniser and is said to have illegal relations with Kaul family.

People can do their own research on General B. M. Kaul, the army Chief of General Staff who was annointed to the top position, directly by his fellow castemen Pandit Nehru.

Wish J.K Rowling would have written Harry Potter Before 1962...PT. Neheru would have known: Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus:NEVER TICKLE A SLEEPING DRAGON...or maybe NETAJI could have been the first P.M.

1962 Indo - China war
by Rohit C on Mar 21, 2014 03:19 PM

The great grand son of Jawaharlal Nehru, Rahul Gandhi was recently at Arunachal Pradesh singing paems about the state and its people. Ironically his great grand father Jawaharlal Nehru had shamelessly almost given away the entire North East to the invading Chinese cheaply and his November 20, 1962 address to the nation on AIR after the capture of Bomdila, announcing "My heart goes out to the people of Assam" bears testimony to the fact that the Center treated the NE region as a buffer state and was ready to forsake it and its people without much thought or remorse .

indo-china relations of 5000 years
by s kumar on Mar 21, 2014 09:52 AM

Biggest disadvantage of military victory is that it is unknown -what is lost non-militarily and permanently . This is what has happened to china’s 1962 military victory. It humiliated and damaged permanently the 5000 years of shared history in the indo-china region for the sake of temporary strategic few land gains.
“Friendship is like a “china ware”- once broken can be mended but the “crack” is always there”. It is irony that two of the most oldest civilizations have allowed this to happen and that last 50 years have greatly put back prosperity of both countries thus allowing the west to hold supremacy. We can only hope this is only a aberration and move on.

Nehru bashing
by Subramaniam narayan on Mar 20, 2014 10:18 PM  | Hide replies

Nehru had many problems in holding the Country together. He had to modernise the country; he had to put a good foundation in technical training a scientific research; he had to start many industries like steel and cement all these in a country which was happy with bullock cart era. Give him his due; he has done great service to the Nation. In order to spite the incumbents of the surname we should not spite him. Any other leader whom we are flaunting would have failed in one or the other areas of challenges.
I feel that we should leave Nehru alone and concentrate on the current problems.

Nehru is considered to be the father of double-standards in modern Asia. When Britain and France attacked Egypt, he promptly called it naked aggression. But when the Soviet Union invaded Hungary, he said he had to study the position further, and never ever got round to condemning the Soviet aggression.
As for his policy on China, there is no doubt that he was misled by that leftist V.K. Krishna Menon!

Myth vs Fact
India's stock exchange, founded in 1890s, is the 2nd oldest stock exchange in Asia. Largest steel co. Tata Steel was founded in 1907. Sarabhai textiles in 1915. Largest cement company ACC founded by TATA, in 1936. Much more importantly India had a vibrant financial, Insurance and banking sector in 1930s. Nehru's license raj and nationalization badly damaged industry pushing India into bullock cart era and poverty.

Nehru Ji? The fellow does not deserve any respect. Time to revoke his citizenship posthumously and make him a stateless fellow.
