When Ashok Chavan won the seat people were asked why they voted for him. The answer was simple : He must have done mistakes in Bombay, but in our villages, he has done lot of work for the improvement of villagers. So we voted for him. For the villagers whether he is involved in Adarsh scam, rarely matters. So are many scam tainted politicians from all parties.

I disagree. In Kerala an actor called Innocent defeated P C Chacko, a Congressman who was the chairman of the JPC on the 2G scam. There are no charges against Chacko, as far as I know. But he prevented A Raja from testifying. I don't think this shows an excellent ethics profile!

Innocent won with CPM's support. He was an independent supported by CPM.
