The US needs Slave labour as their own "white citizens" are both too obese and lazy to carry out domestic work. Most of them are anyway divorced and do not live as a family.
And then there are the fresh converts like Bharara whom neither US wants nor India claims. Guys like thm are the real menace to society. Now, Sangeetha will get Bhararared.
It is difficult to understand why India is now trying to underplay the Devyani incident, which is symptomatic of the US behavior. The US believes that it has a right to interfere in the affairs of other countries. It cocked its nose at the Judiciary in India by spiriting the maid servant away from India on an assumption that she would not get justice here in India. It is a wonder why the Supreme Court has not taken judicial note of this incident and initiated contemept proceedinga against the US officials responsible for this. Looking at the matter from a different perspective, it is in the public domain that most States in the US don't have gun control laws. The shooting incidents in the US schools, places of worship and other public places are well known. How are we in India protected against the gun totting and gun happy Americans, particularly when it is evident (as demonstrated in the maid's case) that they will go to any extent in imposing their will on others? Is the Indian Government not justified on imposing strip search and cavity search on people landing in India from US and such other countries which don't have gun control laws? Why has the Government not done anything in the matter so far? If the Government is unable to do anything because of political pressure, why has the judiciary not done anything in the matter? Will the Supreme Court of India be a silent spectator to the interference of US and its officials in the judicial process here in India?

That indeed is is one of the drawbacks of our democracy. But, that is for us Indians to resolve. That ceratinly does not justify US embassy officials to interfere in our internal affairs.
US believes in world citizenship...then why they did not punish D'yani. Her husband is equally punishable. why he is not driven away....or he will be punished as Rajat.
Glad that India did not heed to american excesses this time around. Indian diplomat in USA, needs to be treated as we treat an American diplomat in India.

It is the other way round. For USA rules does not change for India or for that matter any other country. It is unlike India where "You show me the man, I will show you the rule". Leave apart the diplomats, its India's culture to treat people differently according to their caste creed status and stature.
