The right step is to form a regiment of the tibetans who are hungry to teach lessons to the chinese. Next step is to built 100-150 forts along the chinese borders, with each of them self contained with ammunition depot, communication center, helicopter base, mini hospital, ration depot, etc. Lastly we also need to harness the satelits to keep a close watch across the border.
It is not only a question of raising corps but also to have political will and guts to use against the misadventure of china. If leadership at the centre is weak, any preparedness has no meaning.Look at Vietnam which respond forcefully to any Chinese misadventurism unlike India.

You're right. The political change will happen over time. But this offensive capability is highly imperative; such capabilities take time to grow, develop and become well-honed. Anyway, the Chinkies next door had this coming.

So you mean India does not have the will to respond to Chinese agression? India responded to their last aggression, no matter we lost due to ill preparedness...after all only one wins the war, but that should not be mistaken that India will not respond, when needed. Cannot help someone who is out only to criticise the govt. If you are congress critic and BJP pithoo...then you should ask them why could they not dare to cross border in 1999 against Pak...what can be expected from them against China..only lip service. They could not do anything against Balgladesh when 17 BSF Jawans were kill and sent to India like dead animals...Bat karta hai.
