Free Ad Value
by Balan Iyer on Feb 13, 2014 07:49 PM

Ban on this book has only contributed to its free ad value appealing to the inquisitive mind of general public, while most of them do not have readership qualities. Now,irrespective of the ban, the same book could be down loaded through kindle from the foreign office of Penguin Publications.

A simple question.

Can I write a book about your gods similarly and publish it in US/Dubai and Still be UNAPOLOGETIC ?

One thing I understood is Hinduism teaches a lot of Tolerance, which is eating itself now.
We are not spreading the religion, but minimum expectation is "stop something which hurts us"

Authers like this.
They dont have self pride, any idea to protest in respected manner. Si they simply give up and say - I fond of her but dont agree with her.
This is like I like Tarun Tejpal but dont agree with his acts. Not agree is not sufficient you must protect.

Not Agreee

This is a contrived positive spin being given to this shoddily written book taking shelter under the so called " openness" of Hinduism. It is like someone abusing your mother and you are trying to justify the act giving some supposedly lofty philosophy. Nonsense.

absolutely correct. I do not see any reason for running down a religion. If some one writes a book on how to improve, reform hinduism with genuine interest in improving hinduism, all criticism would be welcome. This is simply an attempt to provoke people and get some attention. I still do not think that we need to protest against this lady and her book, but we should completely ignore it.

Srinivas, absolutely right. The so called intellectual liberals in our country are bent to demonise Hindu culture from foreign writers is shocking. Also funnily all these intellectuals raising their voice against banning of this book are all slaves of english intelligencia.

Wendy and Hinduism
by shreya on Feb 13, 2014 06:34 PM  | Hide replies

Indians are not hating Wendy please stop spreading this information. Hinduism is inclusive and has space for criticism and tons of tolerance. Problem here is that west has systematically devalued our vedas, geeta and puranas. Britishers did it on purpose so they can create inferiority complex in us and so can rule Indians. While British had been devaluinmg our veda in India western scholars were reading nothing but our vedas. This is the systematic put down of our culture. Now when India is trying to build its identity after several centuries of put down this kind of book is another propaganda of west to put our culture down. With west we have historical baggage and I am sure we Indians should not be bracketed as 'hate mongers' when we are vocal that enough is enough on putting our culture down. We are asking west to give space to Indians to re-build their identity before another onslaught is thrown at us.

Pradeep Martya Sen and Roy have only one aim which is centered around their publicity by being controversial. They do not care about wider impact on India, our culture and emotions.
As long as they are controversial and have caught attention in western media they think they have done enough to keep their personal aim going. They have no other motto but to benefit themselves.
