I like the DevDutts & Dalrymples of literature & commentary. Their politics may be to the left - but so be it. All the same, their writings are informative, entertaining, educated & compelling
Now getting to Doniger Syndrome - her book is pure;sick, twisted, demeaning & perverted fantasy. Can't believe this book has been elevated by respected Universities, Libraries & Bookstores worldwide.
Am not in favor of banning this book of garbage. However, there needs to be a fine balance of what passes for good taste, logical interpolations & above all facts.
Am not a Hindutva by any stretch of the imagination, however, let me see how other religions, ethnicities & even sexual orientations would react to similar perverted fantasy written about their heritage.

It seems your whole justification is based on the fact that "imagine how Muslims will react if you wrote a book on Allah". Well, I thought Hindu's were better than Muslims when it came to these matters.

You can see the difference in the reactions: one goes through the courts the other imposes fatwa.
