committed. there are so many mistakes instead of correcting them and publicly saying sorry for mistakes, all avenues are tried to cry horse despite court accepting the petitioners views and proofs.
In the name of modernism, Marxism, liberalism, westernization classics are usually relegated to museums and excessive market oriented dynamics are allowed to hold sway. But this is not how civilization is supposed to work. We need to have classical values as part of our daily lives with reflection, introspection, scrutiny and gradual change wherever and whenever needed. This would be a sensible way to keep a sense of reverence towards things which work. But as Buddha said, we need Right Understanding, instead of Blind Faith, to prevent decay and fanaticism in society. Hence, it needs to be studied, understood, reclaimed by every generation.
Sending it to museums, criticizing it, making up lies and stories, is not a solution to this at all.
If there were a championship for being a simpleton, this writer will get it. The problem is Wendy Doniger and others teach their horrid fables to people foreign to Hindu culture as "the only version". Result: Most westerners know India has castes but not that India invented the zero and most of modern arithmetic. If Wendy Doniger, Witzel and the rest of the RISA clowns did not have such a pernicious effect due to their propaganda, no one would care. There is only a few steps from Doniger to Modi not being given a visa - though US has given "proven" perpetrators visas.
It is said that Hindus are tolerant. But the fact is, it is not tolerance. Most of them are ignorant, some what self-centered, thankless. They stand in ques in front of temples, rivers etc asking benefits from Gods. But when the same Gods, culture is attacked by others, they keep quite.
BTW, why are these westerns are so interested in Hinduism? let them do research and write books on their religion first.

An average Hindu is innately more cognitive of his core philosophy than an average Abrahamic - to understand this your skin-deep rhetoric is insufficient.
Mr.Devduutt by saying average indian does not know you the scriptures you are thinking you are more intelligent than them. they know much better than the so called liberals. The book should be able to rise the level of intelligence and wisdom in others not denigrating.
