In fact the RSS campaign for forcible reconversion and the call for a law to ban forcible conversions are both directed against the religious minorities and intended to use the issue of conversion to sharpen communal dvisions. The RSS sponsored reconversion campaign be prohibited using the provisions of the law.
Did the news papers write stories about full night prayer meetings conducted and used for conversion? Did they count when educational institutions were used to convert children? Did they count when hospitals were used for conversion purposes? Did they count when poor were lured with foreign jobs?
There are silent voluntary groups who devote a day in each month to cleaning and restoring neglected / ruined temples in and around Chennai. They have drawn sincere appreciation from the people in the respective localities / villages - these 'reconversion activists' could take a cue from these volunteers who are not even seeking any recognition for their work.
