Request Times of India and other news paper not to place conversion to Hindu as a news and question marks news. Which is making our secular society hot. Conversion to any other religion from one is quite natural in Indian secular structure, which is happening last 100s years. Conversion is not surprised thing in a secular structure. That is way in a previous 100% Hindu society now minorities are more than 20%, and it is growing. So please not miss reporting.

by pa siramu on Dec 25, 2014 11:24 PM

During UPA's rule, conversions occurred towards christianity for money and health reasons. At least now there is one opportunity 'Ghar Wapsi' is open for those deceived. No point in opposing by some MPs who did not interfere during their conversion !

North Indian commoners
by piri on Dec 25, 2014 11:12 PM  | Hide replies

have never heard of the term "land reforms".

If someone were to mention this word to them, it will hardly register in their minds - since they have always lived in a society where feudalism was the norm.

And if someone were to suggest to them that land reforms brought path breaking change to societies in the form of egalitarianism and cessation of exploitation, they will either blink or grin in ignorance !

are wayanad and idukki part of north India, piri? stop bull-shitting. church will neither allow environmental protection nor land reforms in idukki. cpim politburo and vijayan will just wag their tails in front of church to fight the common enemy - modi, rss, vhp etc. cpim is possibly the most corrupted political party in India today. it 'd be better for people like achuthanandan to dissociate themselves from these wolves.

well done
by deepak on Dec 25, 2014 10:58 PM  | Hide replies

The beauty of Hind00 spiritualism attracted people without any proselytizing, as we can see in far flung places like Bali and South Asia. Today, the world needs a departure from dangerous Abrahamic faiths, and we should encourage the propagation of Hind00 faith. This however, is simply reversion to the faith of their ancestors. This will also do away with any caste prejudice that has crept into the Hind00 culture.

Actually, if commoners are to become free of exploitation, they ought to shun every religion and religious practices outright !

Religion is used by political as well as religious leaders to keep commoners deluded while their wealth is taken away from them !

As long as Petrol flows in the Gulf, the mansions and farmhouses in Kerala will be in demand. Not only in Kerala, but also TN and Bangalore where most of property buyers are Keralites. In any case why so much fear with a handful of reconversions? This is a small drop when compared to the millions that have been converted in North East, TN and AP in last 10 years. (not counting what the Portuguese did in Konkan and Goa long ago)

If you read my post, you will notice that I have written that the best way possible for the BJP/Sangh Parivar to win elections in Kerala would be to make Kerala a replica of the Northern states where the BJP has been winning elections regularly.

And if Kerala is to become a replica of the Northern states, then whatever I have said must be done !

Karnataka is no different from the north in terms of lack of land reforms, minimum wages not rising above Rs. 80/- per day, lack of adequate social sector spending (public healthcare, education, food distribution, minimum support prices for farmers' produce, etc.)

Care to check these points with any source you can find ?
