The Congress party wants to celebrate Tipu Sultan's birth anniversary to please the Islamic vote base, although the ruler was associated with the general misrule of India by all kings, particularly the Islamic rulers. The Congress party would oppose the award of Bharat Ratna awards to respectable politicians like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but would promote such awards to be given to useless people like M.G. Ramachandran of Tamil Nadu to curry his favor for political gains. Congress party is pathetic in not even considering stalwarts like Vajapayee and Dr. Man Mohan Singh for Bharat Ratna. Although I strongly prefer and like the Narendra Modi administration of the BJP, I feel that the Congress party has failed to nominate deserving people disregarding party politics. Both Vajpayee and Dr. Singh deserve the award, bt not Indra Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Ramachandran. Jawharlal Nehru and Morarji Dedai deserved those awards.

It is all congress bakwas about Tipu. Tipu fought the British for India's freedom? Who are they trying to fool. People were opressed and terrorized under Tipu's rule. People needed freedom from Tipu Sultan.

Tipu Sultan was the usual Islamic ruler who oppressed the Hindu majority. The Congress party is pathetic in celebrating his birth anniversary.

To call Tipu Sultan 'secular' is like calling 'Hitler' as a Mahatma !!! The person who had massacred many thousands of Hindu who had resisted conversion to Islam does not deserve a mention too, leave alone being celebrated. The Congress has gone mad, and this will surely destroy this party from Karnataka, one of the very few states where it is still alive !
