He was the precious and treasured PEARL/DIOMAND of Bharat. Why confer on him an external award ? Pls mark my words, this not to belittle awardees so far.He was the Father of Nation the highest ever award any person can achieve. Not India alone, the whole world has recognised him. Why raise trivial issues ? Raising such trivial issues amounts to belittling and disrespecting the awardees.
Mahatma GANDHI was much beyond the scope of Bharat Ratna.
Mahatma Gandhi was a BIG Movement in himself.
He was FAR FAR above the ranks of a mere BHARAT RATNA or for that matter, even Vishwa Ratna !
Even he was far above the NOBLE Peace prize. !
The dedication of Gandhiji for the entire country, society, for South African society, all together could be summed up under 10 Nobel prizes minimum.!!
So, the author is limiting his narrow minded ideas by limiting these TOWERING personalities like LOKMANYA & Gandhiji in the perimeter of Bharat Ratna etc.
The author's mind must be broad enough to identify & make difference between theory & reality.
If course If some PM feels to give to Mr.MK Gandhi then can give, nothing prevents him. Please note that this awarding is better than self awards given by Mr.Neharu and his daughter Ms.Indira! They declared Bharat ratna themselives! that is big joke, but congress bhaktas never talk about that.
