She thinks that barriers have been broken just because she has been declared Miss USA. Ask any whiteAmerican, in private, on what they think about her and you would get to know how strong the barriers are. Just because the judges acted on the instructions of sponsors of this event, she thinks that they selected her based on her beauty and knowledge :-) Anyway, all the best to her. It would have been interesting to see if she would have been declared a winner had she participated in this event without tonnes of makeup, waxing and bleaching, to look fairer than what she actually is.
She wants to pursue medical profession in U.S.A and earn in dollars instead of serving the people who are happy for her so-called achievement. Don't worry guys, a someday a foreigner like MOTHER TERESA will come here to clean your a$$. And when such person is awarded a Noble prize, then you can claim authority on such person by calming that they are Indians and not foreigners.

Mr.Yogesh shinde don't talk of Mother Teresa like that because she to served Indians.Go to a Missionary centre and see for yourself what they are doing before commenting.
When I spoke to my American Indian friends, virtually everyone, in private, wanted that this girl lost the race.
I was puzzled; either they should be proud or non-chalant, that must be the natural reaction, but why this negative one?
After scratching the surface, my many American Indian women friends mostly from Punjab told me that from now on many Americans expect Indians to be dark skinned and short and when these women told them that they are Indians, many an ignorant American expressed surprise that Indians like Pakistanis can be fair and tall!

descent with Indian citizenship (very hypothetical case indeed that) had been made Miss India by some strange method of destiny, chances would be that the great majority of common Americans would not even come to know about it. At best, the news might pop up in some unimportant corner of a newspaper here or a sundry TV channel there. In all probability, such news would be followed with much greater interest by American Indians than white Americans!
What a contrast it is then that the news about a girl of Indian origin being made Miss America has sent a whole nation (more specifically the Indian middle class) into raptures! In the eyes of the great majority of members of the Indian middle class, Indians have 'conquered' one more new frontier, one more exalted citadel has been breached by the irrepressible Indians, one more chapter has been added to the unparalleled glory of Indians..................!!
Sad irony that Americans in general (neither its commoners nor its glitteratti nor its intellectuals nor its media nor its anyone else) are still barely aware of India as anything more than a boondock somewhere east that teems with people who wallow in poverty yet tolerate corruption!
The Indian Business Community in U.S.A. should fully support Nina Davuluri and get her 'endorsements' which she fully deserves. It would be nice to see her picture in Subways,on buses and bill boards in New York City other cities.After-all she is Miss America and she rules.
Nina Davuluri represnts a rare combination of brain and beauty.
