FSB simply promote more corruption in govt and among the people. all govt policies r meant to make money for t ministers. people should become aware that no freebies or extended help can improve their condition. they hav to work hard to make their lives better. this may promote many other bad habits in our people like alcoholism, smoking, irreasponsible behaviour towards family, etc. our people need to understand that its not freebies but development, better working of govt departments in all fields like schools, banks, food supply, roads, rails, water supply, electricity, etc will improve their life rather a ration at rs 2-3 per kg. this may be of help for sometime but not for lifetime. this is a request to all the people and govt departments to work honestly. then no minister can do anything to us. we should do our duties honestly. we should become cooperative with each other.

... is collusion between all parties to create even more opportunities to siphon off tax money. Feeding the poor is last on their minds.

Time to ban child marriage and control population first
by sivanantham on Sep 09, 2013 05:09 PM

Time to ban child marriage and control population first. Any bill banning child(teenage) marriage and controlling population will be very useful. Because population and poverty are inter-related to each other. Our people must realized that those who can not feed food their children from their own money, they must not breed children.

Food bill: chance for one more scam

1.25 Lakh crores Rupees have been allotted for food security bill. But so much of public money will be going to the pockets of corrupted politicians and government officials in the name of food security bill. Poor will NOT be benefited and they will remain poor for many years. However, any bill banning child(teenage) marriage and controlling population will be very useful. Because population and poverty are inter-related to each other. Our people must realized that those who can not feed food their children from their own money, they must not breed children.
In India, main reason for poverty is due to under-payment system. First society should pay proper salary to poor for their work. Many people discriminate some people based on their caste or type of work which they are doing and pay very less to them. If we started paying them good amount of salary, then they can survive from their own income. Another main reason for poverty is mainly due to attitude of person. If one person is not interested to any work, then he and his entire family will become poor. There are few parents who send their children for begging in public places and they eat from the collected money. I have seen these kinds of incidents many times. But I don't know whether you have seen or not. Unfortunately India has some amount of these kinds of people. PLEASE REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING PROVERB;
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I am no elitist, am one of those 3% who pay income-tax and am proud to say that 100% of my income is covered under income tax. While Mr. Bidwai's penchant for populism, leaning etc are known this is not about questioning those. Who can question that poor should have food security? But the process makes every thing to be questioned. Is it a fundamental rights bill like freedom of speech, freedom of religion etc(as it is touted)? NO. It is a finance bill. So it is a scheme. So every tom, dick and harry whose tamil equivalent has my name by the way, has right to question. If this bill purposes to dole (yes i am mindful of using that word) just like how it did for corporates in terms of tax "benefits". while the later can be said as fully benefited by the intended 'citizens' albeit as personal benefit and not anything as asset to the nation, the former would be strictly out-of-the-reach-of intended 'citizens'. if 1.25LC pa is earmarked what are those existing beneficiary schemes doing including PDS? Or if some naive person thinks whether it that the govt. is shutting the shop at all such schemes except the Food Security Bill (FSB) and funnel those fund to FSB. Per the method it is altogether new scheme. So PDS would be there for leakage of money as well as the food items (remember the FCI godowns, open air, rain, rodents, MNS taking all those grains under the guise of rotten food while the same saviours (manimekalais) defied supreme court decision to distribute among t

the poor. So as a few already opined here this will be CSB - Corruption Security Bill with features to rob the farmers in terms of procuring the produce at less than the production cost, hoarding them publicly, make them yet another rain, rot, rodent etc, and exorcise dead and show them as beneficiary while the funds be remain as 'havis' for the corrupt 33Cr devatas of india (not to be confused with the vedic 33Cr devatas). So this is exactly the reason why we must NOT support the FSB.

No surprise at this loyal poodle of the First Family lobbying for his masters pet projects.

How strange...over 90% of the masses are malnourished, poverty-stricken and destitute, forced to eke-out a miserable existence on $2/day or less,
yet, only 66% of these hapless folks are deemed worthy of subsidized-food, by the very same party whose destructive Stalinist policies have kept them poor, backward, ignorant, forced to live in filth and squalor and no hope of escaping their hellish existence.

Doesn't this remind one of the "Padi [about 2 kilos] arishi oru ruvaaykku [about 2 kilos rice per rupee] given out by the DMK long ago. They won the election; and ditched the scheme.
Anyway, all is fair in Election and war [US's Syria intervention].
Politicians! have a field day! As long as the aam admi is asleep the ground is yours.
