Why is Modi Led BJP Looking for Allies?
by Bigtribe on Oct 09, 2013 08:35 AM  | Hide replies

Why is Modi led BJP looking for Allies? Why's BJP if think having modi wave, so popular and acceptable to India looking for allies - Chance for BJP mustering number is remote therefore scared.......

If Modi led BJP that confidence why are they looking for alliance before the 2014 election?

Modi is a crook, murderer and criminal accused hyped/manufactured and made it look acceptable person by the hired PR agency. By yardstick of the Indians feku modi should have been in jail now.

Caste system is the root cause of corruption
by Kumar on Oct 09, 2013 04:52 AM  | Hide replies

It is surprising that Bedi doesn't even mention this point in her laundry list of why corrupt leaders are elected. Typical upper caste cluelessness or insensitivity or both. Anyways appreciate her support on the war against corruption.

Every political party be it Congress or BJP are all doing their caste calculations before giving tickets. On the other hand, on election day people will only remember the candidate's caste while casting their ballot. Then they will go home and blame the criminals belong to other castes and totally forget about their own-caste criminals who they voted for.

Why poll predictions go wrong?
by Balwinder Kang on Oct 08, 2013 09:13 PM  | Hide replies

Elections in India have been bug-bear of pollsters. Primary reason is ‘subjectivity’ in their constructing the electorate-POV. Except some psephologists, all of them are “interested” parties…..even Ms Bedi is; her [genuine] craving for “change” colours her perceptions so obviously. The exact number of persons whose ‘opinion’ can be influenced by all that appears in print is not even ¼ of listed voters despite 82,237 registered newspapers. MRUC Dec’12 [Q4] Survey suggests that of all mediums I’net leads by registering 24.2% CAGR while TV is next at 7.2%. We must, however, discount the fact out of 14.32 Crores I’net users [inc. students] a fraction only ‘reads’ the subject under discussion; similarly, TV’s Saas-Bahu viewers vastly out number news/debate watchers. A recent [not-so-professional] survey revealed that few rural voters could recognize MMS, or NM….though SG did better than both of them. All this leads us to [dangerously] ‘extrapolate’ this hypothesis to predict what we believe “should” happen.
Without sounding pessimistic, Ms Bedi needs to consider whether 21.6% Upper Castes & 14.9% Traders who voted for BJP, or 25.1% Rural Peasantry & 27.1% SC who voted for Congress are really primed to change their ‘preferences’ because of initiatives like Civil Society? The ‘educated’ class she belongs to may think so…

Nothing questionable about Ms Bedi' credentials.....the debate is how she / others like her can be more effective. Pls re-read the observations [or, ask someone with some brains to read for you] and then comment who is 'foul-mouthed'!

Secular
by arungopal agarwal on Oct 08, 2013 05:41 PM

2014 election is contest in between minority appeasing and dividing country secular forces and true secular forces. Today only Modi is talking about India, others are busy to keep their vote bank intact on the basis of caste, religion, region and language.

Corrupt leaders get re-elected. Why?

They get re-elected perhaps for their money power, nexus, muscle power, indispensability, relationships, networks, and may be winnability. Many of them are Robin Hoods in their constituencies. They deliver what bureaucracy does not, because of their accessibility to their voters! But all this will change because we have hit the very bottom. You can't go any further below. We can’t stoop lower. (Four former chief ministers, several Cabinet ministers and senior bureaucrats have been jailed in the last few months...)

Change
by Yastika Basu on Oct 08, 2013 02:36 PM

There can only be change when educated/ knowledgeable masses opt for change without being forced to.
Are 50 % Indians educated ? Qualified -yes , educated - no
Political parties-A system of catering incentives which involve bureaucrats businessmen as to the lowliest.Media is not exempt.
Are there no good or caring individual ? Plenty but these people do not have the power.
Our people have become used to the defaultering betraying politician so much , now they trust the 'buck " more than 'promises .'
Way out-The few educated must examine the individual candidate and not the collective party.A good individual with minimal power at least does not harm , a wicked candidate from a good party with plenty of power will definitely harm society.
