The more things appear to change
by piri on Oct 02, 2013 02:47 PM

or are described as changing, the more they remain miserably the same!

And that is what best describes the Indian reality.

The youth of today sure have more avenues to express themselves. But if anything, they are even stupxider than the past generations in that they tolerate corruption and the corrupt to a greater extent in the name of 'development', 'progress' and 'change'!

Indian Youth Article with Pakistani photo
by Indian on Oct 02, 2013 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

The article is about Indian Youth, and this reputed website could not get a picture of Indian Youth for first slide, so they had to put pictures of a group of Pakistani girls cheering their cricketers. So much for India!

Inddia's youth
by sridhar santhanam on Oct 02, 2013 09:40 AM  | Hide replies

Todays' youth are better informed and are willing to risk for the right cause. The information comes through media and social networks. The leaders and older generations have a fixed mind set unlike today's youth who are flexible and once they make up their mind their target is made. Older generations never had a target other than job security in a government service which made them slaves and destroyed their confidence.

by dineshhassija on Oct 02, 2013 09:22 AM  | Hide replies

infrastructure had almost been zero and income was just sufficient to meet kitchen expenses, education/medical at govt. expense,... still our parents managed to almost guaranteed us the basic above expenses which made most if us to go fearless... otherwise there is nothing on our part ....

The older generation never knew how to demand. They behaved like slaves accepting whatever was forked out. That is the difference

Every change comes with Advantage and disadvantage
by kumar on Oct 01, 2013 11:34 PM  | Hide replies

Every change comes with Advantage and disadvantage. There is no change that comes only with advanates. Now the question is with the changes, whether advantages are better?

The advantages are
1) People are thinking differently and coming with innovative ideas
2) Women got financial freedom which is helping them to take independent decisions
3) People are more free

Disadvantages are
1) Generation is becoming more ferocious which is creating unrest in society
2) Divorces are very common.
3) Generation is under tremendous pressure due to competition and not enjoying the life
4) Family structures are gone completely from combined families to small famlies to me only
5) People are restless and not sure on what is right and wrong. It is becmong like what they did is correct and what they don;t do is wrong
5) Unstable mentality

I can compare this present youth movement to American youth movement. I believe the good and bad of this overall eefect will be seen in 20 to 30 Years down the line.

This author is intellectually bankrupt. The number of people killed on a daily basis in India would put any European war to shame. This guy is a uneducated, uninformed literate.

Could not agree with you more. Sadly a large part of today's generation is leaderless and actually does not have a well thought out plan for the future.
