Mahatma Gandhi is taller leader than Patel and Mahatma Gandhi was also Gujrathi. But N Modi neglected Mahatma Gandhi. Therefore it better to built the tallest statue of Mahatma Gandhi First in Gujrath.

Rajesh Venkatraman
Patel and Nehru
by Rajesh Venkatraman on Nov 07, 2013 01:46 PM

I am not sure what Narendra Modi will be achieving by constructing a giant statue if Sardar Patel, but one thing I disagree with the author is that Patel was closer to the Hindutava forces is all rubbish. The problem with the author and people like him are that they have limited knowledge about history or are blinded by the fact that in this country there is no alternative to the congress and the Nehru dynasty. The greatest contribution of patel that Nehru could never make was patel put the nation before his personal interests and the author must not forget that when a poll was held within the congress who should be the PM Nehru or patel ,Sardar won a clear majority but only since Gandhi was insistent on Nehru sardar sacrificed his position I am sure Nehru would have never done this.Talking about great achievements of Nehru I see that building dams bridges roads these tasks any PM would have done it but the shameless congress will call these as great vision .Nehru handling of Kashmir gives ample evidence of his skills .Nehru was power hungry politician and his legacy and curse ails the nation even today. The present Nehru dynasty is an example of how this country has been forced to except people whose capability as a leader itself is a question ?Please do not belittle the contribution of sardar and if today he is getting some credit for his work let it be so we are not concerned whether it is Nardendra Modi who is giving it or anyone else

CONGRESS DIED LONG AGO
by sanjoy basu on Nov 07, 2013 01:45 PM

Remember that what is being led by Mafia is Cong (I) where I is for Indira. The Congress which led the freedom movement died with Gandhi (not the fake ones) and Sardar.
Now Congress is a family firm where one family rules however unqualified. It benefits because it has kept people poor and illiterate and given them pipe dreams that one day it will lead them to paradise.

It is only appropriate that other leaders are honoured and remembered so that people know that India is not (in the words of the Damaad-e-Hind) a banana republic ruled by a family.

Patel stood for unity and rule of law not mindless appeasement and sickening pandering to anti-India entities such as Pakistan, jihadis, and corrupt lobbies.

It is interesting that the write did not say that naming every second airport, govt anti-poverty program, national park etc after Nehdu familiy is a ruse of Cong to get political mileage
