India what is today is because of Patel 's efforts. Congress denied him PM's post and Nehru ignored his advise on Kashmir & China--BOTH became cancerous issues. it will anothe few decades to solve if Congress is alloewed in 2014 to rule India.
True, people would not know the names of all those RSS people this author has mentioned. But, then would people also know about all the historical incidents that the author mentions? Seems to be another attempt to pass off anti-Modi rehtoric as great opinion. The Author is surely eligible to his views and expressions of the same as well. But, the least he can do is to state facts better instead of twisting issues.

At last, a balanced article that presents facts as they are, without sugar coating, polishing and prejudiced utterances. Great job, Bharat.
Mr. Bhushan equates RSS with BJP, he may have reasons for doing so, but the rationale it got to be admitted has limitations. The complex linkages of institutions requires examining those assumptions.
BJP is a political organization, and subject to historical process of change per needs of its burgeoning constituencies. Only a small percentage of those subscribe to RSS mindset. As new crop of leaders arrive, party would be subjected to demands demanding resolution of complex issues.
If Patel has been assimilated by BJP, there is a reason for it. Congress of today is only a legacy of Congress-R. Congress-O, which was much closer to Sardar Patel worldview became component of Janata Party, and hence BJP has adequate legitimacy to stake a claim, specially since both ABC and LKA worked under Morarji cabinet. There are also BJP members who came via Swatantra Party route, and their world view has been closer to Sardar Patel and opposed to Pandit Nehru world-view.
This healthy evolution of right of Center polity in India, surely needs all kinds of opinions and heated debates to dust off the cobwebs of the past, and regain the shine of real mettle.
Sardar Patel was taller in stature than all the leaders India has had since Independence with the exception of Subhash Bose who was as patriotic as Sardar Patel.
