Poor / Poverty

Though the food security bill which the Govt.is talking about is an very old story like old wine in new bottle. When India is reeling under severe drought and malnourishment
among children in the rural villages due to which many life get perish year after year the Govt. has turned a blind eye at this side. Talking on the air,debates/discussion will not fill the belly or prevent hunger. There are lakhs of poor/BPL families who go without food
for many days is invisible to the naked eyes.
It's high time that the Govt.come down on earth
and deliver goods is the need of the hour then only the food security bill will have any meaning to itself. A report. By L.N.S.

Study the lessons from our pst experience to save the nation
by K Muralidharan on May 23, 2013 12:54 PM

We Indians speak too louder, and too sharp. But, when time comes we act too slowly for want of political iron hands. When we are not acting immediately as and when required, the other neighbouring countries too treat us as a weak nation. We have to act fast before we lost the hat.

Diplomacy
by Bradley Johnson on May 20, 2013 06:11 PM

I think by withdrawing it's troops from the region is to improve diplomatic ties that can be beneficial to India. But then again it could be true that India has seen it's no match for China in terms of warfare and thought it's wise to pull out and avoid a confrontation that could ensue and prove costly to India.

Govt
by Indian on May 19, 2013 10:43 AM

Today the govt. is making people to drink and sleep. Bcoz they dont want people to think about the happenings in the country and what the govt is doing. And we the youths are also not bothering about the country and are busy in seeing cricket, films and chating, enjoying partiesand chating in social websites. Instead of blaming the govt which is behaving irresponsibly let us think and have our responsbilty in building or protecting
ou country.

Dont know why Army didnt respond, wjy do they need approvals from Delhi when the country is being invaded, a head string General would have ordered troops to march forward and take positions within China but the present General doesent seem to have a brain of his own

There are many counts for which India cannot attack China.First and foremost is the 1962 drubbing our army received at their hands.Second Indian defence forces procure 85-90% of their equipments from foreign manufacturers, whereas in case of China,it procures 85-90% from local manufacturers, thus our personnels require time to be trained in handling these, which is not the case with our neighbour.Third the infrastructure on their side is much-much better with the result that they can swiftly move their army battalions/companies to the scene of action, which we cannot, because of lack of infrastructure. Fourthly this India-China border is a legacy handed over to us by the Britishers, who ruled us for over 150 years. There is no clear demarcation(boundary stones, fencing etc.) on the ground, at the border, with the result that each country interprets it to its own convenience.

It is a fact that we indians fear the chinese due to our earlier loss in 62. If the incrusion would have been done by pakistan our army would have started moving because we have won the earlier war. I fear that due to the present state of corruption in our armed forces and politics we wont be able to take a challenge from pakistan army.

I don't know how true it is,but I read on the internet, that the Indian defence services are one of the most corrupt in the world. It is possible, because India purchases more than 80-85% of its defence equipment requirement from foreign manufactures, and thus there has come to light heavy bribery given to army officials/bureaucrats/politicians,for approval of tenders, and award of contracts. The case is exactly opposite in case of China, which hardly procures 10-15% of its defence requirement from foreign vendors.Purchasing equipments from foreign vendors, and handling them efficiently & competently are two different things, thus it is not necessary that Indian defence personnel could handle the acquired foreign equipment as efficiently as the Chinese could do with their own things. The much superior infrastructure on the Chinese side, may have also been a deterrent for our army to attack, together with the memory along of the 1962 drubbing.

China/Pak problem - only true answer
by daniel thorat on May 19, 2013 10:09 AM  | Hide replies

To compel BJP and all opposition parties to ask the President to sack the govt forthwith. Salman Khurshi is a skilled lier (in his peculiar tangential English) and he is fooling India. Yes, India has definitely conceded the territory to China but if India sends its army there, the elections and the licence to loot India for more years would not happen. Therefore, Chinese PM is most humbly, reverently invited and they have obliged India. What is shame ! Where is our national pride, where is the spirit of determined defence of our teriritory, where are those who were ready to lay their lives for India. Is there no way out except allowing this govt. to sell out Indian territory and its resources till the elections throw out this corrupt UPA?

To add: if we are never to resist the enemy, why keep our armed forces? Are they not for protecting and securing and defending our borders? Are they only for ceremonial show offs and draining the resources of this country. Why does India not make a friendship treaty with a powerful country,so that that country defends India and disband all our military? That truly will be a hge relief and our growth figures will soar.
