Well its a great irony in a nation of 100 crores that we are incapable of find real leaders. Shameful to even think that people like this might rule us one day. Sick and Ugly Politicians who make bizarre comments and loot public money in form of taxes.

Dont forget that we lived under Muslim & then Western invadors for around 400years. This time period is enough to make we Indians look always towards successful people to give us next generation leaders. This is same for Bollywood or Politics. Only place where successful person cannot push his/her child as next leader is Sports. And compare overall Sports condition in Post independent era. Hard to get even 1 Olympic gold from 100 crores plus Indian. We dont need democracy to change, an autocratic leader like Modi is enough for 1-2 terms to straighten up India.

yes,hes right. rahul seems decent but to tackle indian problem, we need somebody EXTRAORDINARY!

our avg politician has certain skills. and they are very very good at these skills.
but unfortunately..these skills cannot improve india in leaps.
thats why we need those extraordinary people.

the vision required is somebody who can makeover entire cities and other such things and help us leap to another quantum level of functioning.
just some ordinary guy cannot do it.

Singing in praise of British...typical behaviour of Indian elite
by on Mar 21, 2013 04:30 PM

It is easy to get carried away by Masani's arguments. After all, we are in the same boat and have common interests.I refer to about 100 million Indians(less) who read and write English. We have the best jobs and look down at Indians who did not have the same advantage as us.
But,is it good for building a country in which a minority looks down at the majority simply because they do not speak English. Do they have a similar biased outlook in China,Korea, Japan or Germany against native language speakers? Are these countries not more cohesive than us Indians?
Is it a surprise that countries which use native language in their public life do better as they bring out the best in their human resources.
How many English speaking engineers, scientists or researchers has Mr Masani seen in India who are capable of working with their hands and producing something creative. All the English speaking elite of India in every field of development are doing is rehashing ideas and thoughts from the Western world and projecting them as their own to less fortunate Indians.
So,how many Nobel prizes have the Indians won in India? Which particular idea of these people has enlightened the world?
Let the fruits of decent education in local languages flow to all Indians, they will with native enterprise, intelligence and creativity put India to the forefront.
Masani perpetuates the myth of British superiority and accentuates inferiority of Indian culture, customs and language felt by us as colonized

who has vision! none!
by raman govindan on Mar 21, 2013 04:28 PM

it showed his lack of vision, when Nehru, dismissed the first elected marxist state government in kerala with the help of caste, religious and fuedal elements and utilised their agitation to further the sagging popularity of the INC.

the baton has been taken by the leaders following him and parties and the psuedo secular attitudes has taken root in the country!
