Our Foreign Policy has a lot of scope for improvement, to say the least. India should have taken a pro-active role in SriLanka by convincing the LTTE to bargain for rights in exchange for laying down arms. On the other hand we have lost face with our IPKF being decimated by LTTE and then overtly supporting the LTTE to please TamilNadu politicians. When finally the LTTE was liquidated by the SriLankan army, we have lost out on all fronts. This is the result of nothing but weak-kneed and rudderless foreign policies. Do not repeat it with Maldives!!!

How true!Despite winning decisively in 1971 war,we achieved nothing. We do not have good relation with any of our neighbours because of our wrong & weak foreign policies. Even a country like Maldives is able to threaten us.
It's just another Boogyman story. We have grown up since and don't go to sleep with bedside stories like Monsters in China, Lion Prince of Sri Lanka and Sindbad in Maldives

Govt of India is blind to the facts.How much fanaticism is in Maldeeves,it can be under stood by the following event happened many years back.A socalled Indian cultural delegation visited that island.A lady dancer had a small Shivling with her.It got detained.The dancer pleaded that the the idol was for her personal worship & not for public show.But they did not relent & said,'u leave it here now &take at your return.'why did govt. of India not take this question with Maldeevian govt?No!that is against its secular policy.And now the same people r purchasing lands in Kerala & GOI keeps mum.What havoc will these fanatics play there,which is already a hot bed of jehadies.Alas!we have had a govt.not for Indians but for alien anti-Indian/Hindu foreiners/jihadis.This govt has to be replaced by a national patriotic govt.----Jaya Deva Arya
Look what type of neighbours we live with? Srilanka. She sleeps with our enemies Pak & China, despite our closing eyes on wiping out a race of our ethnics.Nepal,though a Hindu country, no regards to us and leaning towards CHINA. Myanmar, luckily, they smelled the designs of Chinese, so they have swung towards us. Mind you, not because of our diplomacy. And Maldives.Naturally they will tend to be jihadis. When are we going to be tough and strong?
